Re: SSB transmission

I did open the the sBitx to replace the original Rpi4 that has only 2GB of Ram with a Rpi4 with 8GB of Ram.
While doing so I noticed that the encoder board is totally bend and obviously that is something that is in every sBitx.
While investigating where to probe the audio from the mike I discovered poor soldering around the Q1 transistor that amplifies
the signal from the mike. Worse the collector of Q1 was? making contact only through the solder flux. Two resistors were also
poorly soldered. I also cleaned a few solder splatters.
Now I get some power out and clean modulation as I can hear from the? Utah SDR.
I also had my first real SSB QSO this evening a station in Salem Oregon with a good modulation report. The mike I was using
is an ABBRREE that I bought from Amazon and use with my FX-4CR. I still would like to get at least 10w peak. One step at a
time. Now I am happy.
