Device names can be changed in Pulseaudio (pavucontrol) if Pulseaudio has module-device manager loaded

I haven't investigated the pulse/alsa angle too deeply, yet.

My thing is on both my sbitx radios I install a lot of other stuff, much of which can/does depend on pulseaudio.

I have to go back to the original images that came with the sbitx to see how it is configured.

I raise this issue because in there is info on making sure pulseaudio is not being used.



Some of it came from a PR that I submitted.

Yet I'm not really sure how effective those steps really are.

Someone online described pulseaudio as a cockroach, it defies attempts to kill it, and I agree.

It's quite a mutant!

Note the 'libalsa pulse' block in the library layer, this is how you can have both alsa and pulse at the same time.
