This is? the part that does not make sense to me.
Testing the three pins on the encoder to ground (with the power off) show no continuity.
Measuring all three pins with the power on to ground show the 5 volts
As? mentioned above, I am able to check the encoder with my DVM, so the encoder seems to be working.
Just for kicks, I disconnected the wires on the encoder one at a time, then both the brown and black wires at the same time, and "touched" them to the pin of the encoder to see what it would do.
Then I disconnected the yellow (common) wire, (after reconnecting the brown and black wires) and did the same, and nothing happened.
I would assume that the Yellow wire should be the common, and should be the ground wire, but am not familiar enough with this rig to be sure.
Just to further check, I also disconnected the red wire (push to enter) and also made no change. 5V on all wires.
I am wondering if there is a problem with the Raduino.?
If the original owner had put the Raduino in backwards, would have this damaged it? It seems that the board is not "keyed" in any way.
