I too am curious how to update to V3. I get the following when I try. I did modify the file modem.c to correct something but not sure what it means to “commit” or “stash” these files.?

Yes, you are showing that there are problems with the way the manual says to upgrade the code.

It will always fail if something has been modified in the sbitx folder.

This is because the "update" command is using "git pull" to bring in the updated code and this fails when you have modified files in the "sbitx" folder.

Those error messages are from "git" command and you should not need to know what they mean.

And what he suggests is good, it says to make a whole new folder for the update, which is a good approach.
