Win 11, CH340 driver's advanced port setting require setting changes to work with Nano.
FYI, I just changed over to new laptop with Win 11 and needed to program a Nano.
I could get the board info (as much as normal with a clone) via Tools-> Get Board Info?
Device Manger -> Ports(COM &LP) showed USB-SERIAL CH340 (COM8)
So all seemed OK :)
But when trying to Upload a sketch, I got this error:
avrdude: ser_open(): can't set com-state for "\\.\COM8"
digging into the driver settings
Device Manger -> Ports(COM &LP)? -> USB-SERIAL CH340 (COM8) -> Properties -> Port Settings -> Advanced...
Clicked the checkbox "Enabling the Serial Port Enumerator (SerEnum)"
Now I can program the Nano.
I don't remember having to do this with Win 10 (older driver) and don't have that machine to check my sanity.
Wanted to pass this along to anyone who is having this problem, or a problem in the future with machine/OS/driver updates.
I don't need help.? All is working fine.
Rgds,
Gary
