Re: Help!

Jack,

possible simple solutions, bad solder connection where the power jack is at, maybe a failed diode on the board from the power supply jack, on/off button, maybe a regulator failed.

Also, and i know i have done this too, forgot to check the voltage out of the cable from the power supply.
Also an open fuse if it has one, or an open fuse if you have one on the power cord, and also, check to see if the power cord doesnt have a break in the wiring. Ive had this happen before .

Power jack might have an internal failure. a broken piece inside the power jack? Also, if you can remove the whole body out of the case, take a magnifying lens and check for cold solder connections.

if you ever used it alot or moved it around or taken it outside, thats one thing that can be a simple fix. I made loads of money repairing bad solder connections on consumer products back in the 80s and such working in Lafayette ind. close to your University u used to work at.worked at a tv repair shop close to the city park on main street.

I dont contract repairs, anymore , but 80% of the problems were what i wrote above.

I would dig out the ohm meter and check these things first before paying someone a buttload of money for repairs.

Hi, Jack.

I'm a former G90 owner and I lived the rig for many reasons.

What's the nature of the failure?? What's it doing or not doing?
