The tip is mic, the ring is ptt and the sleeve is ground.

I I know this is a dumb question and I should be able to figure it out, but I¡¯m stumped. I¡¯ve had a couple of semesters of electronics at the local jr. college, and I know I have a lot to learn. I¡¯m really embarrassed to ask this question but I¡¯ve searched the internet with out any luck.
