today I tested my #5 with real antenna, 5el. OWA beam at 30m height.
The goal was to test receiver, sensitivity, filters, TX a bit, keying on CW and basic settings.?
Very first QSO was made CW with VU2TMP¡hi. Is the V2 setup in factory done to mandatory contact his motherhip at first¡? ?
Then after I worked CW also VU2SRT, ZL1ALA. After I turned beam back to USA and worked few stations from FL, ME, AR and TX.
All has been done with AGC: Fast, RF gain: 50% and BW: 200Hz. I did not compare it with other radios but sensitivity of V2 sounded ok, filtering was nice and receiver sounded smooth.
Power measured during the QSOs on 20m: 38W output. PSU showed aprox 10A current on key down. The current in RX was about 700mA. Just rough values indication (no uncertaintes calculated).
I put together some first observation notes from that first trial on the air and I will post this summary later.?
