I also tried to do the setup in a more standard compliant way, by using debian supplied fftw libraries, bringing up the alsa loop module in the proper /etc/modules and set its options in a separate /etc/modprobe.d/ file. As soon as I finish a clean setup in a debian 11 aarch64 I will share the setup files.
I also added a Makefile which can be useful for the ones in 64 bits in my fork:
