Joint RATS/WABITS Ride - Saturday 22 April 2023
Please join us for a joint tandem ride with the WABITS and RATS in April.? This 31 mile ride will start from the in Athens VA at 9:30 AM on Saturday 22 April 2023.? The terrain in Caroline County Virginia is lightly rolling and had very little traffic when we test rode it last year. We will develop a Ride With GPS file for this ride closer to the ride date.

The BBC's Chestertown Weekend, held every Memorial Day weekend for almost the past 40 years, is a wonderful event and a great place for tandems.? We have had over 50 tandems at this event some years back and, with good reason, the easy terrain, low-traffic roads. GREAT food, social activities, and more!? Four days and three nights of fun!!? Evie and I have been to about 35 of these weekends--formerly known as the Kent County Spring Fling--and we will be there again this year.? Mark your calendars for May 26-29, 2023.? Our friends and former WABITS members Hank and Roxanne Thiess are hosting a tandem rally out of Fayetteville from September 29 - October 1, 2023. Julie and I will most likely be attending. We rode in the area once before. Fayetteville is home of the University of Arkansas, is a nice college town, and has good places to ride. I’m attaching the flyer for the event.

Join Marg and Mike for a 46 mile ride on quiet roads
and crossing 12 one-lane bridges.? There will be a lunch stop at the
Subway in Emmitsburg.? Cue sheets will be available at the start.? No
restrooms at the start.
The route is similar to the September 17th tandem ride but modified to use the Mt. St. Mary tunnel for one crossing of Rt. 15.
