Three Covered Bridges tandem ride Saturday July 16 at 9 AM
Please join us for a 39 mile tandem ride this coming Saturday. This ride is a long time club favorite and passes through three covered bridges in Frederick County, MD. The terrain is rolling and near perfect for tandems, with approximately 1800 ft of elevation change over 39 miles. There several parks along the route where we will regroup and take rest breaks. There are at least three restrooms along the route, and we plan to stop at the High's convenience store in Thurmont.
In attempt to start before it gets hot, we will start at 9 AM from Monocacy Middle School: There are no bathrooms at the ride start. Suggest using the restrooms at the Weis Grocery Store: Ride with GPS route to follow soon. Hope you can join us! - Dave & Julie Harper Dave - (703) 608-8416 Julie - (571) 436-2286 |

Re: Tandem ride June 18 @ 9:30
Lydia: Well I have a Saris Bones I got at a garage sale at REI, so that is a definitely greasy possiblity. :<). I also have a Yakima roof rack, just need to change the mounts. But a trunk rack is greener with less drag. Re: Tandem ride June 18 @ 9:30
Looks like beautiful weather, but we have to pass for the moment heading to Harwood. Any suggestions on how to put the tandem on a eNiro ev? Or our old Pontiac vibe?. I guess I need to do a rack transplant, as the Civic Hybrid is kaput for the moment. Trailer hitch?
