¡°The cap across the primary of T2 on my PA is for gain shaping.¡± I¡¯ve never tried that¡ you should publish your results because when I ran just the first stage, the gain is very flat¡ almost

Re: 20 W Amp Oscillates
The cap across the primary of T2 on my PA is for gain shaping. The oscillation continues with the BPF and the LPF out of the circuit. I notice that additional grounding on the TR switch lowered the

Re: 20 W Amp Oscillates
If the receive signal is causing the feedback it probably means that one of the little switches on the LPF is shorted to work in both RX and TX. You might put the thing in TX, inject a signal into the

Re: 20 W Amp Oscillates
So, I swept the TR Switch from 5 to 50MHz using port J23 to ANT1 with PTT energized trying to find what is causing my amps to oscillate at ~30MHz. Attached is a plot from the NanoVNA. I tried shorting

Re: 20 W Amp Oscillates
Ok you have a lot of good equipment to solve this. Yeah it would not hurt to try shorting over the relay on the daughter board. I would also try removing the BPF board and just use a jumper to reduce

I have a TinySA, NanoVNA, 50MHz scope, DVM's, Taidacent Pwr Mtr, KiwiSDR, audio generators, assorted dummy loads, attenuators, and couplers. I used the NanoVNA to sweep the 20 wt Power Amp (I built 2

Bill, What about bypassing the driver? Can you share what the input power requirement would be after it, and/or how to do so? Can one basically bypass it and connect C1 to the input of T2, or is there

First off¡ what sort of test equipment do you have Dave? Just stuff like DVMs or do you have something like a VNA or a Spectrum Analyzer? And possibly a signal generator or another radio you can

Re: 20 W Amp Oscillates
It means either the relay is bad, you have a bad solder joint on the daughter board, or the sockets/ pins are not meshing to form good contact. Dr. William J. Schmidt - K9HZ J68HZ 8P6HK ZF2HZ PJ4/K9HZ

Some further information - with the SWR tx out of the circuit the oscillations continue. When I remove the Tx/Rx switch the oscillations go away. [email protected]> wrote:
