I was rebuilding a few FT-102 transceivers and they use an Omaron relay, originals were quite good spec wise. I found some on ebay and other sites and started to test them with micro ohm tester and cycling them 1K times and rechecking. Most were Chinse copies (look identical) and the resistance would increase across the contacts after 1K cycles (using low level rf signal). I eventually found some OEM originals and the difference was dramatic.? IF I can find some time I will do same test on the HF41 relays. Tim W4YN |
