Re: Part II of new run
No idea. There are some mixed mineral samples, trinitite, lantern mantles, radium bridge markers, couple big F3 smoke detectors etc in a couple boxes back in the corner. And about 800# of remelted

Re: Part II of new run
Nick where is the Po212 at 8.78 MeV coming from? It will be useful when we post data to give all the parameters of that run. The spectra is really says nothing without knowing the peak count, count

Re: Part II of new run
This was with a filter I made by folding card stock in half and sandwiching a piece of Geo's filter roll inside. I punched 1" holes with a gasket punch. Note that I did not punch the two small

Re: Part II of new run
Shape looks good . what filters are you using? The HQ FP5211-47 and the FPAE-47 give a filter error and restricted flow. From a GAST vac pump. (26lpm) The PTFE5u work ok (30lpm) in the metal carrier.

Re: Part II of new run
I suppose so! Like I said, the exhaust fan was on, so it would be pulling some air through leaks. How do you feel about the spectrum shape now? If you let me know soon enough, I could maybe knock

Re: Part II of new run
Nick, With only 0.2 pCi/L after 4.3 hrs says you don¡¯t have much of a Radon problem or that mancave is pretty well aerated. Dud Sent: Friday, July 1, 2022 1:49 AM To:

Part II of new run
Some pics at start, after an hour, and then a few hours later. Rough side of filter material facing up this time!

New run on Smartcam with Geo filter
Exhaust fan has been running, but I kept the door closed except going in and out a few times.

Re: Geo's filter material trial
On a plane to Lexington (well, Atlanta first) and flying back Wednesday. When I pulled the card out after posting, I realized I'd instants the filter material smooth side up... Will run again the

Re: Geo's filter material trial
Nick, A rather strange spectra. The Po-214 at 7.6 Mev has a strange shape and the beta down somewhere around 1.8 is distorting the curve fit. I wonder if that has an effect on the Rn calc and where

Geo's filter material trial
Ran this over 5.5 hours. Shed exhaust fan off, closed up overnight, door closed during the entire run except for going in or out, so minimal air exchange.

Re: Nick's first unit run
Your flow much higher than mine...probably why I get filter alarm. Everything downstairs now..where more vacuum pumps are available. Geo

Good on pC/l now

Re: Nick's first unit run
And now, 5.5 his of run time. I did hit save spectrum before opening the filter lever. [email protected]> wrote:

Re: Nick's first unit run
This is a new (3yrs old) 20x20 metal building I built here. I did leave the door open and a fan on because it's so hot in here. The tapered part is to ensure you insert the card the right way. I

What is the purpose of the tapered section? I hooked the LAN up and ran the VNC program but it won¡¯t talk to it The VNC program 1.0.8.2 will connect and give remote control between my computers

Re: Nick's first unit run
You need a faster computer, more memory and a Solid State drive. Probably get rid of XP as well. Dud Sent: Saturday, June 25, 2022 5:17 PM To: Nick Andrews;

Re: Nick's first unit run
What ferrite? I just ran it in . You have very low radon, more like outdoors. I generally have 2-3 pCi/l. After running for a short period it runs up to 4 or 5 the drops down to a fairly constant

Re: Nick's first unit run
Here's what the cards measure. The sensor head is spring loaded and will safely accept at least .097" thick filters. I opened the sensor and used a depth micrometer in both positions. Normal
