So I did a survey at work and found no radioactive sources, I did see a slightly higher background count than home. ?It was very similar to home level, and a fair amount lower than the figure I found for average US background count that I am not concerned. ?It would be interesting to hear what folks are finding for a background count. ?Mine was 0.07 uS/h. ?This was with the?Radiascan 701A in Gamma mode, with the sensor covered with only the plastic cover (No Beta shield)
One of the reasons I decided to do a survey at work was that one of the neighbors in the industrial complex handles dental equipment possibly including x-ray sources. ?Would this detector detect x-ray, I suspect that it would but am not sure.
