ATU-10 Firmware Update

My ATU-10 charges just fine via USB-C.? However connecting the USB-C to my Windows 11 Surface does not open the new file manager window to allow FW updates. I am at FW Ver 1.4 and really want to update to 1.6.? I have the file on my desktop ready to go.

Am I missing a driver?? Do I need a USB cable with chokes on both ends?

Hi. No driver needed. Try another better quality cable.?

Hi David,
Did the ATU-10 add USB hardware?? I thought it was just for power.

Roger.

Roger, it's adding an USB disk, mass storage device. When you copy a firmware into that, pic reprogramming happening.
For ATU-10 only, not for ATU 100.

David,

I am trying to update my ATU-10 from 1.4 to 1.6.

When I plug the USB into my Windows laptop the ATU does not open up a window as a new drive. ?I have tried every USB-C cable I have including expensive ones with ferrite chokes.

I could not find any mention of necessary drivers to make this work either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Larry, open your atu-10 up and watch what inside. Is there small chip close to USB connector?

David,?

I see a small chip with traces to the USB-C connector. See photo. Is this the one you asked about?

Larry, at least it is present
Should to work :)
Try turn USB connector over couple times. Windows should make a sound of connected device at least.

David,

I will try that and advise.?

David,

I tried flipping the usb-c connector. Removed and reconnected many times. Tried real high quality cords without success.?

The usb-c jack seems a bit loose. The plug stays in but the slightest pressure pulls it out.?
