Always tune till find certain threshold?

 

Hello,

Is there a way to force the tuning cycle to tune untill a certain threshold??
?
04 cell - I have read that its incremental to current SWR status, is this correct?
?

Cell 4 defines the trigger that starts auto tunning.??

It doesn't affect the ability of the ATU to find the lowest possible swr.?
The least value for cell 4 would be 10= 1.0:1, the perfect match . So? 00 is an? invalid number.? The minimum is 10 .

The default 13 is there for a good reason, I believe: to avoid unnecessary tunning almost all the time.?

If the unit is in front of you, after the best tuning, you can set it to manual. In my particular case, where the unit is 14 floors above my apartment,? without any remote control,? I have to set to a higher number, like 15 , 17, or 20.

Do you provide power for ATU over coaxial or via separate cable?

Here are the Q&As:

What antenna are using with the remote ATU?

  • A doublet fed by a homebrew 450 ohs ladder line, 9.5 m each site center pole 7 m high and side supports 2 m, an inverted "V" setup. It is not perfectly alined or symmetrical because of the limited space on the top of the building. Between the antenna and the ATU-1000 there is: a 7 meters long ladder line, a 4:1 balun, a choke 1:1 balun and a 2-meter coaxial cable. The antenna is on the top of a 22 floors building. It can be tuned from 40 to 6 m, the better SWR on 40 m (1:1) the worse on 14 m (1.6:1).

Do you provide power for ATU over coaxial or via separate cable?
  • No power via coaxial cable, since it is already being used to carry remote AC and DC (+/-)? voltages con control remote antenna relays switches.
I am using a small 12v 1 A power supply using available AC power close to the antenna

How do you solved thunderstorm protection?
  • ? I do not solve it!
  • Probably the antenna, the baluns, and ATU, will be destroyed after a direct discharge, which has never happened on many years.? The ATU is grounded on the building structure (grounded ring required by regulations).
