#ATU-10 Excited to get the ATU-10 but... #ATU-10

Richard Mead WB6NGC

Hello to the group,
Has anyone with the unit seen it seem to not be able to tune out more than a 2:1 mismatch.
Rather it just passes it through to the transmitter. So it presents 2.5:1 or 3:1 at the transmitter.
Is there anything I should be looking for when (or if) I open the tuner up for inspection. I'll have to find my magnifier first.
I did re-flash the firmware. But it was already at 1.4
Thanks for any hints.

I'm assuming this is a pre-built unit from aliexpress? Cold solder joints, apparently.

Ebay. Seller hison-818. Yes pre-built.
I looked inside. No way I'm getting in there with an iron, let alone my fingers.
I'll send him the review...

I thought hison was in this group at one time. If he still is, maybe he'll chime in.

I have two ATU-10's from ALiExpress. I don't think the seller matters. They all look like they came from the same manufacturing lot. The first one I got was DOA. The second one seems to be working, but I have not done extensive field testing yet. I never did get to the bottom of what is wrong with the first one, but I did note that one of the wires in the directional coupler was rubbing against the screw holding the ground lug on the back panel. If the enamel has worn off and that wire is making contact with ground, that could definitely be the cause.
