Instructions for Building ATU-100
Jim Campbell
I built an ATU-100 a year or more ago. I have the kit of parts to build another but ran across something in the instructions I don't understand. L4, L5 and L7 have two specifications as to the number of turns. L4 says 8 turns or 10 turns. L5 says 13 turns or 16 turns and L7 says 19 turns or 21 turns. What determines which specification to follow?
The instructions I got with this kit was a single sheet about 6" by 8". It would be really nice to find something more verbose. I have searched the web but didn't find something better. A URL to better instructions would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jim - W4BQP since 1953 |
Jim;
The github site has the documentation and latest firmware at . There is also an ATU-100 MINI, which has fewer inductors/capacitors for the L-network. Maybe your instructions are for the mini? L1 - 4mm AIR CORE 0.5mm WIRE, 3t L2 (4t), L3 (7t) - 6mm AIR CORE 0.8mm WIRE, 4t, 7t L4 (8t), L5 (13t) -T68-2 AMIDON CORE 0.8mm WIRE, 8t, 13t L6 (13t), L7 (19t) - 2xT68-2 AMIDON CORE 0.8mm WIRE, 13t, 19T There's also some good info and links here: Hope this helps... |
I wound the coils like this:

L1 3 turns (0.05 uH) L2 4 turns (0.01 uH) L3 7 turns (0.22 uH) L4 8 turns (0.45 uH) L5 13 turns (1 uH) L6 13 turns (2.2 uH) L7 19 turns (4.4 uH) Interpreting that you will need increasing inductivities according to the schematic on Github. But I have to admit that I felt irritated at first as well. Vy 73 de Rolf, DL8BAG Am 27.10.2021 um 04:01 schrieb va3rr via groups.io <va3rr@...>: |
