Are you using the cable that came with the ATU as some only have the 5V connected try a diffrent cable.

ATU-10 firmware 1.6 update difficulty
I recently purchased an ATU-10 assembled (AliExpress) which arrived today. ?Mechanically, all appears to be soundly constructed. ?The display notes firmware version 1.5 on start up. ?
Now the crunch..
I tried to upgrade to 1.6 using the method described in the thread ( previous post, just drag the hex file onto the external drive which is the tuner). ?I downloaded the zip file on to my desk top. ?But, neither my Microsoft PC nor my MacBook will recognize the USB (computer port) to C connection (tuner port). ?The C port appears to work, as I charged the batteries to full upon arrival. The computer USB port works because I plugged a mouse in to test it.?
So, is this a hardware mismatch created by a substituted main chip? Or, am I missing a magic combination or switch of some sort of which I a, unaware?

Hi Dave? Yes after two weeks there I came home. Basically the change of BP medicine has fixed. About 95% better now. And yes it was very boring. Most nurses here by the way these days are Indian or Sri Lankan.
So have been home about 4 weeks now.

I recently got an ATU-100. ?It tunes but doesn't seem to retain the tune. On CW, for example, if there is a brief pause between words, it retunes. ?It seems to do this whether it is in autotune mode or not. ?This means that there is a brief spike in SWR on each transmission after a delay. ? Is this how it is supposed to work? ?I would have assumed it would hold its tune, at least until power was turned off.

I recently brought one of these. My unit was fitted with the correct diodes and performs well across 160 - 10M.??
The unit differs in that it is designed to work on a 5v supply, with 5v relays and internal battery.
A huge plus is the display - multiple Graphs for SWR, Power, graphing over time, and the ability to make changes directly within the setup menu,?without flashing firmware.?
You have full control over the unit parameters all in a menu.
For instance;
SWR or Power readings out - no problem, trimming can be done in the setup menu.
Relay operating time trim
Tune ADC, adjust for QRP or higher power.
Im not compensated or an affiliate, just passing on my experience.
Would be great if BI3QWQ shared the source on github for further development and as an alternative to N7DDC's firmware.

Take a look at the ATU-100's little brother, the ATU-10. Specifically designed for the type of operation you have in mind, including latching relays.

Hi Bret, There is a QRP version by the same designer called the ATU-10 that uses latching relays.
There are other QRP tuners that may be suitable for your needs.

The ATU-10 is missing 2 pull-up resistors on the USB-C jack.
They can be added but it is difficult for my non-surface mount soldering skills. :-)
