All,
Lynn - KJ4ERJ - author of APRSIS32/CE, passed away. We don't have any more information right now.
?
I'm in a state of shock. I'm not even sure what to think. I still have tears in my eyes, so I will keep this short.
?
I was just on our monthly APRS Foundation executive team call with John Tarbox (WA1KLI) and John Langner (WB2OSZ). John T. got a phone call from Lynn's wife with the news.
?
He was one of the nicest people I've ever met, and I considered him a great friend!
?
The APRS Foundation and the APRS community worldwide know of Lynn's contributions to ham radio. His mark will never be forgotten.
?
I was just looking through the history on this group and it looks like it's been a few days since he posted.
?
We will keep you posted as we learn more, but I thought it important to let you know as soon as possible.
?
Please keep his family in your prayers. ? -- APRS Foundation - Ensuring the Future of APRS!

A terrible shock. A great guy, and benefactor to the amateur community. Prayers sent for him and his family.

My thoughts and prayers go to Lynn and his family. I got to know Lynn through his help and support of APRSThursday over the last couple years or so. He was always there to help. ?This is very sad.?

"That can't be." I muttered to myself...
Absolutely shocked.
Lynn and I talked over the years and I always applauded him for his contribution to the hobby. I am still in shock.
Godspeed and God Bless him. Condolences to his family and multitude of friends he made over the years.

So sad a passing of a great man. Besides creating a program of what enabled me to get into APRS (I never could get other programs to work), I was always impressed Lynn devoted much time answering questions from newbies to experts.
RIP Lynn

I have a vague memory of Lynn saying he was looking at UIView with his son when he decided to write what became APRSIS32 - maybe it's on the website - not sure. I think it was in the 2010 time frame when I read it. If that was you, thanks for helping inspire him!
I was really surprised and disappointed to read the news. Then I looked up his age - 64. Wow, I'm 64. I'm grateful for Lynn's willingness to not only code a great app but also support it actively. He will be sorely missed. I never met him in person, but I expect he was a fun and interesting guy to be around.

I have been reeling from this sense I first read it last evening.?
So sorry for the families loss. Lynn was always willing to help via private email, group email, APRS Messaging, or even a phone call... He was a force in the APRS community as I'm sure he was in everything he did in his life. He was always a positive and supportive leader in the hobby...?
I know that I will be doing my best to step up my contributions to help the APRS foundation because of his example.?
