APRSIS for Android

I downloaded and installed the APRSIS to my Toshiba Thrive Tablet. It installed but when I attempt to run it
all I get is a message that says wait or stop. If I click wait after a few seconds the msg reappears.

Where did you get the APRSISMO.apk?

Do you get a hydra image overtop of a zero level map of the planet from OSM before it hangs?

Does your tablet have an internal GPS?

Hi Lyn

We have just achieved APRS downlinks on the Outernet

We are trying to get APRS clients to add the ability to pull APRS data from outernet receivers.

This means reception of APRS outside of APRS signals and internet globally. Also it could be replied to in remote areas by satellite or HF APRS.

If you would be interested please contact Abhishek at outernet contact details on outernet.is

YAAC has done this and is functional, xastir is in the process, it would be nice to have my fav APRS client on board!

Just remember the function of the Outernet APRS feed is to deliver APRS content to remote areas where there is no internet connectivity.? No inernet maps, etc...? Bob

Outernet has pre-downloaded map tiles already for global weather. With the location provided in the APRS data they can overlay. We cannot expect zommable maps clearly but there is always compromise with no internet.

Let's see what they come up with, they certainly have all the info now .
 

P.s APRSice works off line when you download map tiles have tried it myself?

Can you provide the path for the map tiles? And/or a sample of what they contain? I did see some maps in their Internet accessible library of files, but they weren't exactly OSM-compatible tiles.
