What all do I need to be able to copy
APRS signals.
I'm old school here when we had to use TNC's and such.

Software?TNC such as Direwolf:

Well, USB->Serial dongles are inexpensive and work fine.? Any PC
can have a serial port.
I have two digital systems here in the Shack.? One uses an old MFJ
1278T TNC and the aforementioned USB dongle, along with APRSIS32
software to act as an iGate, and the other uses Direwolf on a
Raspberry Pi as the TNC for several apps including YAAC, LinPac, and
Pat (winlink).? By far the hardware TNC is easier to set up, but the
software TNCs do a better job at decoding imperfect signals.

What are you trying to break? do you need windows 32 bit or 64 bit version? Are you looking for DOS version (if one exists) A little more info is always helpful, I have never visited the Direwolf web page before and I found the zip file immediately.

There ya go and don't download it to the programs folder but install it directly to your hard drive or make a Direwolf folder on your desktop and install it?in there.
I have never used it so rely on the group for support please.

For APRSIS32, there is no installer either, but ... ?? For APRSIS32.exe the instructions are at: ????? The referenced zipfile is at: ????? Additional infomration about the development version is at:
As far as I know, there is no Direwolf installer.? It really isn't associated with APRSIS32, just an application that can be interfaced. If you are trying to install Direwolf, you need to post on the Direwolf site or group.io discussion.

Soundmodem is simple. Just download
Soundmodem114.zip and ptt-dll.zip (if you are going to use a
soundcard). Unzip both to the same folder and go from there.
Direwolf is a bit more intense to set up but there are how to
video out there for both. Soundmodem is a Windows program and
Direwolf supports several other as well. QTSoundmodem works with
Linux.

If you have a Icom Radio like the 7100 or 9700 that has a builded in sound card all you need is a USB Cable and the UISS software package to do APRS from the ISS. The frequency is 145.825 up/down. Mode will be FM-D if you have the Icom Radio. If you have a Kenwood D72 or Kenwood D74, it is builded in aprs. Basically if you don't have a radio that covers two meters with a build in sound card, you will need a interface to connect your radio to your computer. I suggest using the software UISS for sending and receiving aprs messages and data. DE AI4LL
