Good morning Rob,
Welcome to HF APRS. On the 30M band we set our Beacons to every
45Min or 60Min. Also the WIDE Path is not used. I am shure others
that know more will chime in.

it starts transmitting and continues for quite some time
beaconing my-call-->wide1-1->APWW11 . is there other
settings I need to address so as to not
tie up the frequency?
