Im Excited about this new site!

Starting in early 2000s I became active in many Yahoo Groups. They expanded my life in so many areas and ways that never ever would have happened. I developed amazing friendship, some physical and some only cyber. Some are still going on nearly 20yrs later. Its sad those groups all basically died away. Many of the ones I was active in switched to Facebook Groups and some are pretty good. This is my first IO group and its dedicated to my favorite subject. Heehaa! Life is good! I look forward to meeting new people and learning amazing things. Ty Thom for making the effort to create this site.?
Love and tolerance!

Thanks for stepping forward on this, Thom! I see that Groups.io have a free plan but if there is any charge involved, please speak up so we can be self supporting.

I don't suppose there is any practical way to roll over the content from the Yahoo Group(s)?

Thank you for your kind words. Just trying to be of service, aren't we all? There's a really good chance that we're going to have to upgrade to a Premium plan, yes, because we all have so much to share and the free plan is extremely limited. We can probably start a thread discussing it once the dust settles and we get a handle on how best to platform the group conscience here. ??

Theron,

There was a way to migrate content from the Yahoo groups over to here for a short period of time but that window closed back in December. Yahoo is changing their interfaces and dismantling parts of the old groups so it is now no longer possible to do that from what I can tell. However, we can still post archives of those groups here which is actually something that I'm already working on. It may take me a bit of time but I believe that we could do it in some form they just won't be integrated with the message? board database or anything--they would more likely be in the library as attachments.

Thom,

Having the Yahoo Groups archives available would be huge - as you know, there is a lot of great information in our old posts.

Thanks for your service!

Theron
