A new poll has been created:

We would need to go "Premium" in order for us to be able to build the kind of Library I think that we all would like to see. Those features include more space and bandwidth and such. We have to pass the hat to be able to afford it, since it's $220 a year. I think that it is worth it though from what I can tell. But it's not up to me alone. Hence, this poll. We'll let the group conscience decide. If you want to go Premium, yes and if the yeses win then we can start a donation thread where we can keep track of those donations and keep everything on the level. There will be no secrets here.?

As of now, with the free version, we have one gigabyte of space which would fill up very quickly if we started posting audio files especially. I alone have a huge library and I certainly would love to share some of my archives and I know some of you would, too.

So let's decide. Do we want to take full advantage of ? Do we want to build this into an archives powerhouse of a forum?

I have it set to not show who responds to the poll so don't worry, your votes will remain anonymous. The poll will close when at least two-thirds of the current members have voted or when the answer becomes mathematically obvious.

Thank you for letting me be of service.

Thom

1. Yes

Thank you for voting. Results will be available when the poll is closed.

Maybe we need to go premium if we want to have a really good files section which I would love to have. I'll see if the free version of this will let me start a poll to see if that's what we want to do.

For now, go ahead and upload anything else that you like to share and of course I'll have to moderate them but upload your file and post a message saying that you did while describing your file. If the file is approved I'm down topic, and I will be very liberal about that I promise, I will then approve both the file(s) and the announcement message(s).

For now I think we need to moderate this forum like they did in the early days so that as it grows it stays very dense with information. If we need to adjust this policy later will do it through group conscience. But for now let's just keep it simple.

Gabriel Heatter Show

Hi all,

Does anyone have a photo of the order cards that were sent out to Physician's in hopes they would order the Big Book after Morgan went on the Gabriel Heatter show? I had one somewhere but can't find it! Also, this may be a stretch, but is the audio from that radio broadcast available anywhere?

Thanks so much!
-Mike

Thanks, Thom! Is it possible for other group members to upload files? How does that work? I have a few that might be useful.

Theron

Never mind, I found it - under "Files" on the sidebar. <Duh!>

My feeling is that we should have some kind of 'virtually basket' to start collecting funds now so we have some money set aside for the future...
What are the premium rates & just what to we get from them?

Thank you! We may have to have a discussion about passing the hat if we want to take this premium and enable all the features--if we end up taking this very seriously which I'm hoping for. Yahoo definitely isn't the future, it's only getting worse over there unfortunately. But this site was started by the same people that started the original Yahoo groups, I am told and they are extremely committed to it. This is the groups platform of the future. But we can talk about all of that in due time, for now the free version features are enough for us to at least get up and running. And again, I thank you!

Re: Welcome!

You are to be congratulated, Thom, for your efforts to save and continue the AAHL site and work! I noticed that Yahoo has given sites until the end of the moth to request download of archives. Good luck and let us know if you need help.
