¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI¡¯ve just gotten a pair of 109 lathes, both in good condition I need feedback on the largest jaw chuck that will fit and the craftsman¡¯s model numbers that apply. ?
A 6¡± chuck just seems too big?

Re: I am working on a Craftsman 109 metal lathe 21270. I am wondering if anyone knows what the gear mounted on the back of the spindle is called or the part number. My lathe has a damaged gear ( this would be the gear needing removal

I think you have the wrong guy, I didn't send that message. I haven't sent a message to this group in years, if ever! Gary On Sun, Apr 28, 2019 at 11:26 PM Robert Downs via Groups.Io <wa5cab=[email protected]> wrote: Gary, |

First, in the future please DO NOT put your entire message in the message Subject area. Not only does this limit the length of your message to 255 characters, but it makes it quite troublesome for anyone to read what little you can write without first hitting the REPLY button. So limit your Subject to no more than 40 to 60 characters. Now, the part number of the gear you are looking for is A-3221, and the description from the parts list is Spindle Gear. The only thing that I can tell you about that gear is that it is probably a 32T gear. I do not have an AA lathe to look at, so I can't tell you what the ID details are. I would guess that there is a good chance of Boston or some other gear manufacturer making a gear that you can modify to work. But you will need to know the Diametral Pitch (DP) and the Pressure Angle (PA) before you start looking through a catalog. If you asked any other question, I cannot read it because of where you put your message. Robert Downs Moderator -----Original Message-----

Re: Welcome Group Members
Both yahoo ang groups are available to post.? Ready to take on any 109 or workshop related topics. ? I don¡¯t think the 109 parts source is available any longer.? So used or eBay. ? If you have access to a second lathe making a spindle for this level of lathe is not difficult.? It¡¯s good basic machining practice.? And you can make it whatever you want. ?:) Chris On Sat, Mar 30, 2019 at 7:16 PM <ams3006@...> wrote: Is the Yahoo group still active? Chris (CB)

Welcome Group Members
Welcome to the groups.io version of this group.
Note at this time I am NOT Moving the AA_109_Lathe_Users_Group? from Yahoo. I will wait to see how much activity this group receives and how well Groups.io handles things. I do not like the method Groups.io or more specifically owners of a groups.io? groups simply decide to move everyone whether they want to or not. As will all my groups... Everyone is welcome. Topics are only moderated for spam.? No politics or religion. So lets see where this group decides to go...?? :) |
