I think you nailed it. I went to E-bay and searched for "Craftsman head stock" and I saw several similar 'head stocks' for the larger lathes. Thanks a lot! ?Higher speed would be for wood or brass - maybe plastic. I have a Chinese mini lathe and a mill and several motors. I think that I can get the 109 doing something useful and over time get replacement parts. At least?I got the chuck cleaned up tonight and I got some oil on the ways.
