VarAC

Does anyone play with "VarAC", a rather new digital mode?

I'm not much interested in the award-hunting digital modes, but I'm interested in the VarAC if it's a good tool for self-spotting.

VarAC has the broadcast mode and I can announce my QRG or even invite to QSY CW. (So far, no luck, though. hi)

Yeah, SKCC's SkedPage and other Internet services are doing such QRG, but I'm interested in covering all on the air only.

Anyway, those who cannot reach me on the air by CW, let us try the VarAC. So we can check our connectivity by the SNR.

Email me if you are interested in our SKED.

Good morning and long time no see, Hiro-san!

In China, there is a group who are interested in VarAC, also including me, I have worked several stations in Europe with the mode.
Usually, there will be a Taiwan monitor by BX4ACP on 14.105MHz, he will keep his beacons on the freq and you can send PING request to his call.

If it is possible, I will be on air with VARAC if you are interested in, a keyboard-chat mode is pretty cool.

Best es 73!

GM, IZUMI-chan.

Glad to hear from you again, and I'm sure your studies are going well. :)

I know BX4ACP, always on 20m main CF (Calling Frequency). Once I called him but no reply.

Yes, let us chat via VarAC soon. Anyone who wants to join us?

Hello Hiro san and Izumi san
I am 7L2VPL/Hide.?
I heard about VarAC from Hiro san several days ago. But I didn’t understand the difference among those application ,VOIP like EchoLink, eQSO, Wires-X something like that.?
EchoLink’s -L station has their transceiver in their node system so they transmit real radio wave from their antennas so needless to say, they are real radio stations thus EchoLink station must ?be a ham radio license.?
VarAC has CAT with our TRX and read frequencies from our radio.?
In the meaning,Does VarAC transmit radio wave from our antenna?
I called you Hiro san on VarAC but there was no answer. Hi Hi
After that I sent CQ on 20m band but I could not see any stations at all.?
I wish I will have someone’s reply some day.?
73 both

GE, HIDE-san.

VarAC is like FT8 but focuses more on text chatting.

VarAC controls radio by CAT if you set up so which listens/speaks to the radio by audio USB interface.

So if the volume of your radio is appropriate, you will hear the receiving signals when the radio is in RX and sending signals when the monitor mode of the radio is ON.

Today on VarAC I got called by someone but VarAC said “No Luck”, no call sign was properly decoded at my side.

So I’m not sure if it was you or not.

GL on setting up your VarAC.
