Re: VP9KF 14-28 April

Well. That was really poor. Band was wide open for greyline. Only 5 JA stns worked and they were truly S9.
BTW - avoid these QRGs and around them . The Russian signals are loud and wide. VP2VI is currently buried under the 14028-030 one. They QSYed beneath me and their pile-up forced me off.....

Re: VP9KF 14-28 April

Band open. No callers. 14033.0

Re: VP9KF 14-28 April

OMG!, I was working some SKCC friends on 10m this morning.

I have set VP9KF to the CW Club RBN Spotter but it didn't alarm me.

Anyways, I'm glad you seem to be enjoying your pile-up. HPE the CONDX gets better soon and it will be a big pile-up.

Re: VP9KF 14-28 April

Just worked a few JAs on 28027 out of the blue [~50 stations]. Vy rough going. My apologies to anybody who missed me. Going split didn't help I still couldn't be heard when replying to calls. I did see you spotted Hiro, but you never came down to my mini pile-up.

Re: VP9KF 14-28 April

Paul-san,

I used to QRV around 21.050/28.050 for SKCC QSO around 22:00Z-24:00Z.

I¡¯ll be also on the air tonite (actually tomorrow morning for me).

Let¡¯s see if Lady Luck smiles at us!

Re: VP9KF 14-28 April

Condx improved a bit. Managed a few JAs today at our sunrise on 14 MHz. That path normally lands in JA and then the next skip is into VK. Have actually been working VKs more than normal, as though the skip distances are changed by the condx, missing JA but still landing on VK. The path has produced stunning results before but not at the moment :-| BTW, Hiro was juuuuuust audible on 21 MHz yesterday here, but I doubt he was workable [he was up at abt 21.045, I think, and in QSO].
73, Paul.

Re: VP9KF 14-28 April

Several days before, I heard you on 30m band, but very weak, only 529 and heavy QSB. Sun does not allow us DX these days:(
These days I'm QRV as B100IARU but on high bands, even no RU or EU, from RBN, the SNR received from East Asia is also very bad:(

73, Izumi
Good luck on next days!

Unfortunately, condx are absolutely terrible! Even after the worst of condx over the weekend, this morning I can't hear a single signal on any band. Sounds like sunspot minimum. Tuesday/Wednesday forecast of more solar storms. I'll be listening and calling CQ but it really is bad.
73, Paul.
Think I've only worked a handful of JA, etc.

Re: VP9KF 14-28 April

SRI to hear that, Paul-san.

We still have a week. So look fwd to working you this weekend.

Re: New Web Morse Runner 0.7-beta has experimental support for AWT

Thomas-san,

Thanks for the details.

It seems that the A1CLUB server has the SSL certificate because I can access with ¡°¡°.

Am I right, ATSU-san? Or should i talk to the web master?

But while debugging is on going, maybe the GitHub Is better and then later we can install to A1CLUB server.

So Thomas-san, can I share the GitHub URL with JA members of A1CLUB?

PS
I got a FT-818ND. Is there anyone who can sell the Colins 455kHz / 500 or 300Hz mechanical filter to me?

Why 818 now? Because it¡¯s cute, ha? hihi

Re: New Web Morse Runner 0.7-beta has experimental support for AWT

Dear Hiro-san,

the AWT (and CWA) are still in an early version, but in my early test good enough for evaluation my others. I'll add new functions and fix bugs step-by-step, so you would need to update the version to keep up with the updates.

I would also assume a proper Japanese documentation or translation of the program might be needed?
So just linking to github's server might be easier?

CPU consumption:?
  • The server only need to serve the files (no backend/server logic) nothing else. WebMorseRunner is using WebAudio and this needs a secure context, means https is a requirement.?
  • All the calculations (complex noise / filter / modulation (RIT)/ AGC etc) for the simulation is done in a AudioWorkletProcess in the users browser and these are all manual converted to javascript from original pascal based program (actually I used by earlier Mac port).
On Chrome based browsers the experience is usually the best. As I fixed a problem on Android device and I only had a really very old and low powered Amazon Kinde (Silk Browser) available I was still able to use still quite ok. Nevertheless user with very old hardware or browser version might run into problems.

Because I prefer WebMorseRunner with all supported Contest, I have not tired, but it should be easy to have a AWT only version, by just copy the AWT.txt file to calls.txt (to preload names) and removing undesired contest from?contest_def in file contest-definition.js.

I would be very interested if you or other A1CLUB members would find bugs or have suggestions for improvements. Likely I would check for some international contest like CQ WW / All Asian DX / WAG?

Thomas-san,

Many thanks for your hard work.

So can I introduce any website that runs the AWT MorseRunner?

And what do you think of CPU consumption?

If the web server is just for downloading to the browser and the browser runs most of your MorseRunner, maybe we can place the AWT MorseRunner on our web server.

A1CLUB server is not a rich one, cannot execute complicated programs at server side. hi

New Web Morse Runner 0.7-beta has experimental support for AWT

Dear CW-Friends,
?
last year I started a web based Morserunner for my own CW practice.
In Version 0.7-beta I have added new contests:
(1) that is the german DARC CWA (CW Ausbildungscontest)
(2) A1Club AWT.
?
WebMorseRunner can be found here:?
https://fritzsche.github.io/WebMorseRunner/
?
These contests have an exchange other on NR (AWT: Name CWA: DOK), so you need to upload a file containing these exchange informations.
If you like trying AWT in your browser, please check this github page containing links to example files:
?
Notice: Some functions are not (yet) implemented like a contest specific calculation of the results (points/multi).
?
Details:
  • 0.7-beta?(2025-04-08) -?Easter Edition

    • Further internal restructuring of the code to allow different contests.
    • Bugfix: Contest-definition might not load correctly when the configuration is still initial. This had been found in Firefox browser as Chrome based browsers seems to slightly different instantiate modules
    • Experimental support for AWT (A1Club Weekly Contest) and DARC CWA contest (CW Ausbildungscontest)
    • (2025-04-13) Fixed some bugs:
      • Avoid additional DX stations are requested while the original request is pending.
      • Some Android devices use different keyboard events (thx TOM DG5CW for reporting).
      • A Bug reading the new contest definition could lead to hidden contest exchange field when the contest is started.
      • Added Alt-Modifier to simulate function key presses

VP9KF Paul-san,

How's the CONDX from Bermuda?

HPE everything is going well there.

I'll announce once again to the JA mailing-list about your QRV.

Let us know how the things are going there if you'll have time and Internet connection.

Re: VP9KF 14-28 April

I will be around and I'm very aware of the best times to work to AS. I lived in VP9, was married there and this will be my 20th radio trip. The antenna works vy fb when beaming at you on ~330 deg. Hope to work you and try the times shown on my web site. Note that the path from VP2V is also about the same, so if you work them with their QRO, listen for me with VP9's 100W maximum power somewhere on the highest open band! You and the HLs will peak just after the main JA run. On the next hop I can also work VK6 when beaming that way and using HF greyline.
73, Paul.

Re: VP9KF 14-28 April

Hi Paul
I'm sorry to hear that VP9KD was the silent key several weeks ago, I worked with him on 20m CW before and it seems no LoTW will confirm forever... Rest in Peace

Anyway, I wish you can have a successful DXpedition in Bermuda and I do need VP9 in CW on all bands, I will try to catch you up on air, please remember beaming to AS when propagation is well!

HC8M and VP2V are active these days, they are all near the Caribbean so your dream will be realized very soon.

Good luck and enjoy your future DXpedition?in Bermuda! 73!

I will be on air as VP9KF from 14th to 28th April, 2025, CW only.
I have worked many members before and look forward to new contacts.
Please bear in mind that the only other active CW operator (outside contests) was VP9KD who became a silent key a couple of weeks ago.
I will be trying to fit in with the DXpeditions to VP2V and Galapagos, which should make things interesting....
See for times and freqs, etc.
73, Paul VP9KF
P.S. I sent info to DXWorld but it wasn't published!
