Zello Walkie Talkie

Is there anyone out there who uses "Zello Walkie Talkie" App?

I have installed it on my iPhone and created a channel (group) named "A1CLUB" with the password "599599".

Come with the display name as your call sign.

Re: CW Greetings

ATSU-san,

GM. TNX for your comment.

It is a matter of degree but I hardly say “YOO”, for example, to you when I meet you on a certain day. hi

This is bcuz I’m (a bit) younger than you and also “YOO” usually need be followed with some additional expressions like “HISASHIBUTI” (long time no see) in conversations, I suppose.

However, I feel that the OSAKA dialect “MAIDO” can stand alone at the begging of conversation and any following topics can be adapted.

Re: CW Greetings

Hi JJ1FXF Hiro san
We have more short expressions which are used between friends.
These words are not dialect and are used everywhere in JA.
Yaa/Yoo, Domo, Jaa/Mata.

GA, ATSU-san,

Yes, KANSAI (West of JA) area has various cute dialects.

What about “MOKKATTE MAKKA?” (Are you making money?) as HELLO? hi

I couldn’t find a good Greeting like “MAIDO” of KANTO (East of JA) area.

“KONNICHIWA” is too long to send, ha?

Dear A1CLUB members,

For better communication on CW QSO, I am preparing a simple list of CW Greeting Expressions in various languages.

Please let me know if you'll find better CW expressions on your language or if your language is not listed but there are some CW abbreviations.

TU in advance.

Re: CW Greetings

Hiro-san

In this document you can find a bunch of CW abbreviations for kind greetings like HLV (hasta la vista = bye bye) etc. It starts at page 78 "Combined Radiotelegraph Abbreviations List".

But the document contains much much more info on CW-codes.

Truthfully, no, VK's don't use a lot of Strine on CW. What would be the point? Nobody understands us even when we speak English :-)
Yes, your example for ONYA would be well understood as the positive usage, as would HOOROO.
Except, perhaps by fake Aussies like me, but even we eventually achieve proficiency :-)

Re: CW Greetings

John-san,

My intention to make such a Greetings list is for better CW QSOs, but not for collecting as many Greetings as possible.

I would like to add ONYA and HOOROO to the Greetings list if those Greetings can make AUS stations smile and feel comfortable a bit.

The Greetings list is just a hint or spice for more friendly communications on CW, I hope.

Re: CW Greetings

John-san,

Gud to see you here on A1eML and thanks for your post.

Do you commonly use Strine on CW?

and if JA stations send "ONYA FER QSO" on the air, do AUS stations comfortably accept it as "TNX FER QSO"?

"HOOROO" seems OK to use on CW, I guess.
