The 15m band was open for a very long time towards JA. I tried to work as many JA-stations as possible with my limited station, 26 in total, to try and work A1Club members.I checked the list and I worked members 7K1CPT, JE5HTN, JH1FNU, JH1JNJ and JR6CSY.
It's a web form, Izumi, and you should be able to see it here: I would attempt it right away - just like Chinese bureaucracy - we're slow :-) It's a bit of a hike from your logical jumping-off point (Cairns?) to my place - around 1400 km. Yes, VK4 is a BIG state :-)
I would not worry too much about the call sign - if OM Feng is able to pay by credit card, most seem to be processed in a few days.
I sent a mail to WXW Sand before, he said I need to request a license for landing on Australia Parks official website, but I viewed that site and no idea which area should I contact to get the land license, anyway BA7LVG(Another OP) has phoned ACMA to ask for the license of VK9W
Maybe we can have a meet before the dxpedition starts hihi!
I'll certainly be watching for you, Izumi! Be sure to let us know what your VK9W call sign will be. Sorry, no experience being a CW op on a dx-pedition :-(? Of course, you will want to see what software other successful dxpeditions have used - something that integrates sending & logging, obviously, to get your QSO rate up. You probably know this, but VK4WXW worked on Willis for a while, so might be able to assist with permits.
I haven¡¯t been an OP of DXpeditions, but if you plan multi-OPs on HF bands at once, maybe the BPF will be needed to prevent QRM from your near-by OPs.
SRI this info is in Japanese but describes cheap coaxial cable filter.
There is a lot of information on the internet about the set-ups of the recent (and older) big DX-peditions. Check them out for useful tips.
I was CW-op on an SES recently (sort of mini DX-pedition), and we used N1MM for logging and sending, with a paddle for manual intervention. If you use a multi-TX/multi-OP station I would suggest to use a network capable logging solution so you can share info, chat with the other ops, rotate your antennas, key the transmitters, etc. And setup a Clublog account which you can feed live if you have decent internet so ops can find you. Unless you made a frequency-plan ahead based on propagation prediction.

Hi all, This summer holiday, might be in the late August, I and my friend will be QRV from VK9W* Willis Island, we planned to QRV from 160m-23cm (HF+6m DX+2m DX+70cm SAT/EME+23cm EME), and I am the main operator on HF and EME. Are there any one who worked in DXpedition before or any suggestions for CW operations during the DXpediton? Anyway, the DXpedition is still planning and we are waiting for our radio license with VK9W callsign and land permission. The DXpedition might be delayed. Izumi BH6BEZ VY 73
we @ DA0HQ are happy, if we can logging you and your twins in SSB or CW.
CW can everybody learn in each age.

this is truly great hobby that really all people can participate the respective world championship. Hi Hi.
As I¡¯ll have very limited time due to Family QRM, I would try to focus on DA0HQ, 8N1HQ and 8N6HQ :-)
My twins (11 years) just made the just started German entry level exam (similar to US technician) at HAM Radio (Friedrichshafen) and now licensed as DN9KAI and DN9KEN¡. They could participate in world championship? HI Hi I¡¯m asking myself, if one of the kids would be interested in CW. What would be a good age to start learning?

Hi A1Club, I bought nice IC-706, but it did not include a narrow band CW filter. I could find some used once, selling online, but price was/is quite high. As all offerings from Japan, and I'm planning to visit Japan during summer vacation, I wonder there is a good/reliable source for such a CW filter in Japan? VY 73, Thomas - DJ1TF

VU2TUM Puneit-san,
Many thanks for the FB 1st QSO. :)
The rule of IARU HF World Championship says;
Contacts: All stations may contact any other station. Stations may be contacted once per band on each mode.
And its scoring says;
5.1 QSO points: 5.1.1 Contacts within your own ITU zone count one (1) point. 5.1.2 Contacts with an IARU HQ or IARU official station count one (1) point. 5.1.3 Contacts with a station in the same ITU zone but on a different continent count one(1) point. 5.1.4 Contacts within your continent but in a different ITU zone count three (3) points. 5.1.5 Contacts with a different continent and IARU zone count five (5) points.
Even the QSO between any stations in the same counties earns you 1 point so you can call anyone, I suppose.
