2011 Ranger converter problem
Did you check the main 12 volt fuse at the battery?? Since it works on shore power it has to be battery power to the converter.? Hopefully you have a multi meter, or at least a test light.? Start at the battery and work toward the converter.? Check the quality of the battery ground to the frame.

I have found these to be indispensable when taking anything apart having to do with wires.? Tag them all before disconnecting and you're good to go.? I'm sure when I bought them 30 years ago that they didn't seem this outrageously priced.? There are non dispenser ones under 20 bucks.??

90% of the time it's the fuse by the battery, as people have been suggesting.? That's out in the weather, and possibly salt, so it rusts.? And it's not just the fuse that goes bad.? The fuse holder where the fuse is inserted can go bad, and also the swages that attach the fuse holder can go bad.
Another trick is turn on the something so you're drawing current, then touch various connections.? Bad connections tend to get hot.?? |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Thomas: Before you are done, you might clean up the rat's nest of wires like this: This made it
very easy to replace the Convertor when the AC buss failed. Carl. On 5/17/2024 7:35 AM, Thomas Wilson via

I have both meter and test light and will begin the search! A bit intimidated by what looks like multi colored spaghetti noodles inside the converter.?? |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHello Brian: They are from
European equipment and I call them DIN terminals.
While a bit
pricey to buy, the quality is second to none. Add blocks as you
need, jumpers are available to add outlets to a circuit group.
The Yellow/Green are ground terminals and electrically connected
to the rail. I pulled mine from surplus electrical cabinets. Available on Ebay too. I also used them when I replaced our tail lights: White socket is for the tail light wires. Steel bar on the right side is a clamp for the roof spring. Good luck,
Carl.
