In the files for this group is an article I posted on adding an analog ammeter and also on replacing the converter.? If you have an ammeter and a voltmeter installed in the system you can detect problems instantly.? When my ammeter showed that the converter was not producing 12 volt power (battery isolated via a switch that turns it off) I new immediately it was time to replace the old elixir converter.? I made the mistake of using a brand of replacement converter that is absolutely and completely incompatible with off-grid camping (when recharging the battery via a generator alone).? There is another brand that will expeditiously recharge a battery when necessary (i.e., when using a small/quiet generator).
