Trimmed Tongue Jack
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Gang: We had our
hitch and tongue jack catch on curb dips. After I straightened
the jack, I trimmed the bottom off and also added a spacer to
lift the jack an inch higher. It helps.
Painted the
tongue Yellow so I could see it in the dark. Carl. On 11/21/2023 10:15 AM, Steve T wrote:
That brings up one other issue too.? When towing over a driveway dip, an extended hitch will come closer to the ground and may hit.? If that happens it may damage your tongue jack.? You can raise the tongue jack a bit to compensate, but it's best to extend the hitch as little as possible. |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYears ago I had the problem of the jack hitting pavement, hard to release, etc. I solved the problem permanently by installing three 4" chrome plumbing nipples and longer machine screws, thus raising the jack 4". It still has plenty of lift and never hits the pavement.? Dave ......? I straightened
