My favorite tool for that is a half inch wide wood chisel.? You have to sharpen it with a whetstone or take it to a knife sharpener to get it to work well, even if brand new.? That works about the

Kathy, The width should not make any difference.? If you have a dormer like my Classic, the roof seal sits on top of the dormer hinge, and the hinge seal is under the hinge and acts as a gutter.
