Re: stainless toggle corner clamp
FWI this style clamp also works pretty good if you have issues with your door gap, that can't be fixed by anchoring the wall to the bench inside.?? -- Don DeRyke Sunrise, Florida 2009 Classic, 2020 Ford Escape, 2.0 liter EcoBoost, AWD.? Previous TV 2015 Ford Escape 1.6 ltr EcoBoost engine. |
Re: Wheel bearing question

There should be a washer with a “D” shaped open center between the outer bearing assembly and the castellated nut, item #9 in the lower diagram in this DIY article:? . ? I’m not convinced that the lack of this spindle washer on both sides would cause elevated hub temps on one side only.? Re: Am I missing something?
开云体育Hi Gang: The expanding pole does work, but you are pushing something fairly rigid, the wall, against the very flexible roof flange, a strip of aluminum barely 2mm thick. We use toggle clips to pull the flexible flange to the rigid wall: Not too hard to screw and bolt on, and very effective. If you still have gaps, look at adding foam rubber seals. Carl. Re: Am I missing something?
The side walls certainly do not seal well and there always seems to be a gap in various places. Truthfully, I’ve never had any water leakage because the aluminum fascia on the outside creates an adequate overlap, but what is definitely a problem is mosquitoes! I’ve found that unless that gap is sealed we are plagued by the biters! A work around is pushing mosquito netting into the space between the side wall and the roof, and we do this every time we set up

Could I please have a further explanation of the newer method for placing a gutter?? Is the angled aluminum flush with the edge of the extrusion or below?? Is the angled aluminum mounted with the flat section toward the top, or is it inverted?? ?Thanks very
much.? Jerry

Here's a link to the 9 amp dc dc charger:

I don't have one of these.? I saw? ?post from someone else that described it, and took note since it is a highly reputable brand, and is less expensive? than anything else.? Buying the renogy 20 amp one and then setting the jumper to cut it back to 1/2 power is a more costly solution, since you're buying more power than you need and then not using it. One weird thing about this charger is that I can find it on Amazon, but not on the victron website.? Makes me question if this is a legit Victron product.? The victron website, however, does have the manual for this charger.? Maybe its been discontinued??? On Sat, Jul 29, 2023 at 06:44 AM, Don DeRyke wrote:

Re: Am I missing something?
Maybe your trailer isn't level. I have a lot of trouble with the roof/sidewall fit if I don't get it perfectly level, and sometimes if I do! Lately I've needed to take it out of level to make them fit. If the unit isn't level when you erect he roof the top and bottom roof sections will scrape against each other on one side and the weatherstrip will be damaged.?

Re: Leak beneath spring
开云体育Hi Gang: From
the pictures it looks like the lower spring "sockets" are
failing. Notice how the hole in the aluminum is stretched and
the coil is twisted. The lower tail needs reinforcement and
the coil should get a guide to keep it parallel to the front
wall. Larger roof "wings" would be nice too. Carl. On 7/29/2023 10:02 AM, Don DeRyke via

Re: Am I missing something?
I'd definitely check the seal.? My 2009 had a prior owner.? He didn't strike me as the DIY type, but I don't know. I bought in 2017, so he had it for eight years.? But in conversations with Aliner, I have learned that some of my seals are not what it came with.? Both of my A walls have the hollow rubber "D" seal.? Aliner says they have never used that style on the A walls.? Only 3/4 x 3/4 foam, which would probably give a more conformable surface at the roof frame.

I don't think wind protection had anything to do with it.? Wind driven rain, yes.? Yours look pretty normal.? But it would be difficult to know for sure without removing the spring cover flaps.? I'd just water test before getting too?involved.? I did add a foam weather strip between the inside of the spring cover and the camper to help with any wind issues.? The seal, covers the outside of the hinge.? Re: Charging lithium batteries
Donald, I installed a pair of Silenx fans a few years back.? Very quiet, low consumption, .11 amps.? But another owner was telling me about installing a fan unit inside the fridge, and while looking at those units, I see there are a number of fan units designed for both inside and outside on Amazon.? It would simplify installation.? Don't forget to take into consideration the vent cover.? I had to redo my install because the fans prevented the cover from seating properly. -- Don DeRyke Sunrise, Florida 2009 Classic, 2020 Ford Escape, 2.0 liter EcoBoost, AWD.? Re: Am I missing something?
You might have a missing or twisted piece of weatherstripping up there.? Or maybe the roof halves are not seated properly.? You'll have to get up there on a stepladder and take a look.?
For the short pieces of weatherstripping on my trailer, I've found that the typical adhesive backing on the weatherstripping doesn't hold.? I have to use Permatex weatherstripping adhesive to glue them down: I can't get rid of all the light coming through on those corners on my trailer, but I have a lot less than in your picture.? But mine has never leaked at that spot. |
