Looking for manual of Cool Qube A/C unit in my 2018 A-liner Scout

I have ?a used 2018 A-liner Scout trailer. The A/C (or ? heat pump) unit is labelled a "Model No. 5000 Cool Qube" built by "Ice Cube." I'm looking for manual's for its operation. I can't find such a device anywhere using a Google Search. Attached is a photo of this unit's label.

Re: 2024 expedition water heater

ah crap! we purchased it in January and the dealer had winterized it with antifreeze. They didn't inform us about how to use the bypass valves. We were trying to use it with the bypass on, so the heater's tank never filled with water. Not sure if the burner ever ignited, or if there is a safety mechanism that prevents it from igniting when the WH tank is empty. We will have to test it out now that I know what I'm doing. DOH! X-o Thanks for your help!

Re: 2024 expedition water heater

I take it you can hear the gas burning, right?? It makes a roaring sound.

Did you fill your hot water tank with water?? You have to open the hot spigot on the sink and run the pump (after filling the fresh tank) until water comes out the spigot.? Alternatively, and a better way to do it, is attach a hose to the city water inlet, turn the hose on, and then open the hot spigot.? It will take a few minutes to fill the hot tank with either method.

There's also a chance you have a hot tank bypass for putting in antifreeze for winter storage.? I don't think the factory installs one, but I mention it so you can check.? A bypass consists of a hose that goes between the 2 water pipes going into the hot water heater, and some valves on the hose to divert water flow.? Let us know if you have that.

The bad news is that if you ran the water heater burner without water in the hot tank, you can damage your heater.? But hopefully you haven't done that.

2024 expedition water heater

We've tried using the water heater in our brand new Expedition, but it doesn't seem to ever produce hot water. we have gas appliances otherwise working and the switch is of course turned on. What are we missing? Haven't called the dealer yet.?

Re: Grease wheel bearings

I replaced my entire hub assembly, brakes, etc. awhile back.? I bought the parts locally from a well established trailer supply company.? They recommended this grease for my purposes.? I went with it because I trusted them.? No issues after several thousand miles.? I used the Lucas Red Tacky prior to that.

Re: Wheel Jack Procedure

Yes pretty much, just make sure you rotate the wheel while you do it. Give it a couple pumps of grease spin the wheel etc...

Re: Grease wheel bearings

I use Lucas red & tacky grease. Spin the wheel as you are pumping the grease.

Re: Grease wheel bearings

It is a 2016 Ranger 15, original owner with very low mileage so it has original grease.? I am planning to lubricate the hub bearings as stated in the manual.? I am not removing the wheels, just plan to jack it up and apply grease as per Dexter EZ Lube instructions.? Having trouble locating the type of grease to use as I don't know what the original was and don't know how to "change the grease".

Re: Grease wheel bearings

I'm having trouble finding Valvoline grease in Victoria, Canada.? How did you find out what kind of grease was in your Aliner?? Was it in the manual, or is it colour coded?? Can I use another red grease?? I am having trouble finding the manual for my 2016 Ranger 15...

thanks for your help :-)

Re: Grease wheel bearings

What are you doing?? Adding grease, or inspecting, cleaning, and repacking the bearings?? What year is the camper?? If fairly new it may have the original grease.? Dexter could probably tell you what it was.? Otherwise it's safest to clean and replace.??

Re: Grease wheel bearings

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I disagree with one observation, and agree with the other.??

For our Aliners and all aframe torsion axles that I know of, there are only two inner seal part numbers for our hub/drum assemblies. They are listed in the AOC DIY section under bearings and seals: (https://alinerownersclub.org/diy/wiki-bearings-seals/).? They are industry standard, so any make will fit. If your local Pep Boys doesn't stock them, check with a truck parts jobber. The seal must be replaced whenever the hub/drum assembly is removed from the axle spindle.?

I totally agree that a $300 regrease job is usurous. Learn to do it yourself and save on a job that you'll do better and with more caring than a shop monkey would.?

Dave?

.........?

One tricky part in that job is you're supposed to replace the grease seals.? But the only way to find out the grease seal size is to jack up the trailer and pull the hub.? Then hope that a local auto parts store has that in stock, and you don't have to reassemble dissemble again.

In my area they charge $300 to regrease the hubs.? It's gotten pricey.? But the worst part is they've damaged my trailer 3 times at 3 different shops moving the trailer around their lot.? Nothing major just scuffed paint or a dent in the corner cap, but still aggravating.

Re: Grease wheel bearings

I don't see any mention of replacing a grease seal on the Dexter EZ Lube video. ?They say to replace the cap, which I have already removed so I can size it.

Re: Grease wheel bearings

You put the jack just behind the wheel under the main frame beam.? You put the jack stands behind the jack, as close as you can.?

My 4Runner jack works just fine.? Your Tacoma jack should be ok too.

Re: Grease wheel bearings

If you do one side at a time one jack stand is enough, just don't jack it up on the axle (it could bend) just put in under the frame directly in front of or behind the axle.

I don't buy it from Amazon, but keep it saved to remember it. It's cheaper at my local auto parts store

This is what my aliner had in use,? the biggest thing is you don't want to mix different kinds of grease. If your going to change grease types make sure completely remove the old grease from the bearing.

Happy camping hope this helps

Hi all.? I'm going to attempt this job myself as all the RV places in my area are booking into August and are quoting 4 hrs labour.

My 2016 Ranger has the EZ Lube system.? I've watched the videos and have two questions:

1.? Assuming my Tacoma jack will fit, where do I put the jack stands?? Do I need two per wheel?

2.? Is there any particular kind of grease to use?? The current grease appears to be pink.

Any other tips appreciated!
