Re: Installing an Olympic Wave 3 Catalytic Heater to An A-frame Trailer

One other thing to consider with catalytic heaters is high altitude, they don't work too well over certain altitudes.??

Mr Buddy heaters aren't guaranteed to work over 7000 ft, per their manual.?

?I had issues with one at the grand canyon North rim and also mountain camping in Utah above 9000 ft

Your mileage may vary

Brian, don't you get a lot of condensation with a catalytic heater?? You're venting exhaust gases inside the trailer, and some of that is water vapor.? I run my stove to cook in the morning to make eggs and toast, and just that causes the windows to fog up on a cold day, and thats with a roof vent open a bit (but not too much because I want to keep the indoor temps reasonable).

Also, for those of you thinking of installing a catalytic heater, there is some CO risk.? Before you install one, do a search on "catalytic gas heater indoor risk"
