Be careful disengaging the roof when you're standing inside -- it comes down real fast! When I first got mine the dealer tried to demo that method and almost cracked himself on the head. I went online and found out on YouTube how to do it from the outside. Try standing on your stool outside the camper, just behind the door, and using the wind pole to push straight up. You only have to get it up a tiny bit and wait literally two seconds for the front to disengage. When it does, let the pole slide to the ground (a controlled?slide is better than a drop), then get off your stool and take it the rest of the way down. And don't forget to disengage the wind poles on BOTH sides before trying to take it down. Been there, done that. I now disengage and stow the wind pole on the far side before taking the roof down and stowing the pole on the curb side. If you can't do?this lift easily, maybe this could be the impetus you need to do a little weight training :-) Seriously, though, when I injured my shoulder a while back and had to do some rehab, I told the trainer that I needed to be able to lift 50 lbs overhead to open my camper. That's probably an over-estimate, but it did the trick: she put that as my objective and I got enough rehab so that lift was easy ever after, and I'm now 67, although more like 5'8" so I do have a bit of a height advantage. If you have access to a gym, a little weight work with help from a trainer might be something to look into. Thank you for your response.? I am only 5 feet tall and 77 years old.? I just don't have the strength and leverage to raise the front roof to disengage the back roof while I'm standing on the ground to do a take down.? I will try the method of standing in the door hole and use a brush to push up the front roof from the inside.?? --
