My springs are vertical when the camper is open. I don¡¯t know what the rating of the springs installed might be. I could certainly get the open/closed measurements and order several pair with various strengths to test out. What would you suggest?

Cindy :
If your gas springs are installed so they roughly parallel your roof edge when the roof is up, rather than being perpendicular, then increasing the gas spring pressure will have minimal positive impact, but will likely result in damage to your roof side extrusions and/or roof hinge.
Instead, if your gas springs are parallel, consider removing them and installing lighter rated gas springs per the DIY instructions posted in my earlier postings.
