Re: Late night lab work: (tag, Elizabeth)
Victor nodded, his expression looking concerned. A headache? Shall I rub your neck for you? He reached to rub her neck, not hoping for anything in return, just simply because he wanted to do something nice for his wife, to help welcome her home.
You know that I would never insist on you doing anything which you did not wish to do, or what you did not feel up to. I would much rather exercise patience, and have all of you, your full, undivided attention when the time is right, then insist on making love now, and only have half of you. ?his restraint was made easier only because of his extreme fatigue, but in spite of the fatigue, he found that he still wanted her, still desired her, they had yet to consummate their wedding night after all. It had been so rudely and untimely interrupted, and Victor could not help feeling a surge of anger at this, which he did his best to conceal. She must not feel that he was angry with her. Very well then, good night, my dear Elizabeth. Unless of course there is something else you need to talk with me about, we shall have our rest, and continue our discussions in the morning, as well as searching for a priest, if you would still like to speak with one. Meanwhile, is there anything I can do, or get for you? As tired as he was, Victor did not feel that he could make another step at the present moment, but for his beloved Elizabeth, he would walk around the entire known world. God loves you.

Elizabeth stared for a brief second. Victor's question caught her by surprise. It was kind. But more than that. His passion reminded her of how things were. She thought she was over it all by now. That she was only playing along. And yet, just as part of her felt affronted that she had to put up with more of Victor's affection, the other part inside remembered what it was like. To love and be loved. To be joined in a holy union. To fully trust and rely on her partner. ? But overall it was not in Victor's favor that she has remembered. That he has asked her a question she would have believed so considerate once, but now was not certain how to interpret. It was in fact that very part that remembered love, that also remembered the feeling of betrayal. And it was that part that felt the angriest, over the one wishing to keep playing. Playing was safer. Like starting a new page, pretending to be someone else. Remembering led to feeling. And feeling led to sense of betrayal, disgust and agony, all contained within the bubble of self restraint that this time would not burst. ? She could not allow it to burst. The game had to be played this time no matter what she felt. She had a goal in mind that was greater than herself. But, she didn't have to surrender to her helplessness either, Elizabeth reminded herself, her breathing becoming more relaxed once more. He did give her a way out after all. ? "I am sorry, my dear. Once again you are the wiser between the two of us. I am so weary. It didn't take for my feeble muscles to get weary. Ah, the woman's lot. Already I am sporting a headache from this uncomfortable position. Rest assured, I have not forgotten your need and shall attend to it. Re: Calling on the Doctor, Natari, Van Helsing
Helsing slowly nodded with understanding when Natari told him the sobering fact, that he would likely be dead had he stopped to judge whether or not he should kill the vampires, or let them live. You are probably very correct, his voice held a tone of consideration in?it as he spoke. ?and your observation about God is in fact, true enough; we cannot for example jump from the roof of a building, expecting him to save us, or even to preserve our lives. There are certain natural laws in effect, and when those laws are broken¡, He gave a shrug, it is the law breaker, not the law giver, who catches the trouble for such infractions.
Her action of closing her eyes and giving a sigh, was not lost on the doctor, for it was customary for him to notice the small details which showed various body language of those with whom he was concerned. ?he gave the vampire a concerned look.
You seem¡, unwell somehow, or perhaps a much better word would be¡, Concerned? Tired perhaps? He could tell that something was not exactly well with her, perhaps, worried? God loves you.

Re: Late night lab work: (tag, Elizabeth)
Victor was delighted that Elizabeth seemed to be more open to him now than she had been before. Perhaps the new friend she had met had helped her somehow, he thought to himself, as he gently took her in his arms and held her. But something was tugging at him as well, in spite of her reassuring words, she had been too angry, too distant with him before, and now¡, What was he supposed to think??
Are you certain you are up for this, Love? Please do not feel as if you have to go along, simply to please me; it is after all, only your first day back, and I know there are things to which you must become a custom. Just let me know what you want, and we will see that it is done. If you would rather wait, then, we wait. If you want to go forward with this, then we go forward, it is up to you, my dearest Elizabeth.
Although he was pleased, and pleasantly surprised at her actions, and did not wish to ruin the moment, he could not help wondering what, if anything, she had planned. A small part of him was fearful, probably because he did not feel he deserved her, and yet here she was, seeming to be all in favor of what he wanted to do. God loves you.

Elizabeth was planning on going to sleep, but Victor's passion took her by surprise. Returning his kiss, without much investment, she attempted to school her features lest she gave the wrong impression. "I believe you my dear Victor," though which part of his words she actually believed she decided to leave unsaid. It would do no good to shed light on something that needed to remain a mystery, after all.
?
"Ah yes, me as well, returning your love and such," Elizabeth dubiously fumbled, through the largely frightening terrain. She just thought after a little bit of faking, she could plunge into peaceful sleep. Evidently that was not in the stars for her. She returned his hug, and reached for him, to comfort him with a hug of her own. The one thing she could not yet decide was if he was truly insane or merely inhuman. Nor could she establish which of the two possibilities happened to be worse.
?
"We will come through, I know. It will all be over soon," Elizabeth softly whispered, pretending to reassure Victor but utterly failing to reassure herself. Something tugged at her. A memory of a grin, the hands that would not let go, and the words she has spoken. The very same words, she was possibly threatened with during her stay in the dark place.

Subject: Re: [A-Twist-Of-Fate] Late night lab work: (tag, Elizabeth)
Victor was completely unaware that Elizabeth¡¯s new friend was staring out toward his home. ?When Elizabeth said that she would try to sleep without the potion, Victor looked a mixture of amazed, and uncertain; you truly are remarkable, he told her, and yes, if you have any trouble at all, please do not hesitate to ask me and I will give you some of the potion.
He gave a soft smile when she said he could hold her, she truly is,?feeling better, he thought to himself as he replied, oh honey don¡¯t worry about wifely duties tonight; there will be plenty of time for that sort of thing later. Yes I find you very attractive, and I want you, but we are both exhausted, it has been quite a long, arduous day, and I think just a good, comforting nights sleep is the best thing for both of us. I must confess, I haven¡¯t exactly been eating or sleeping properly since¡, Well since you¡¯ve been gone away from me. He wondered if it would give her some ?sense of satisfaction to know that he had worked as hard as he had to bring her back to life. For his own part, Victor felt that it served him right, since he had not defended her from his own creation.
He wrapped his arms tenderly around her, then claimed her lips in a soft, but passionate kiss, which she no doubt would feel. I love you so much, my Elizabeth, you must believe that, what ever happens, you must believe this, that I love you with all my heart and with all that is within me. ?he kissed her lips once more, the kiss was soft, but much shorter this time, good night, sweet love, more dear to me than science, more deer than life itself. Rest well here in my arms, good night. ?and, welcome back to the world of the living, remember, if you need anything at all, do not hesitate to wake me, for I am here for you, I live only for you, my life is for you.
The doubt that she would ever fully believe his words haunted Victor Frankenstein like a?ghost from the abyss of the beyond. I hope someday you can believe that for real, he told her, I love you, he emphasized each word, hoping for no sort of physical satisfaction, only striving and doing his best to assure her.
God loves you.
Elizabeth accepted Victor's agreement with a pleased yawn. It has been a tiresome day but she was over it now. His question made her think though. Her first instinct was to accept the potion from him, because it could not hurt and would ensure proper sleep. Yet she learned so many new things today. About herself and what she could do, her great purpose, About her Victor probably lying to her, much as she'd suspected. She has learned to control herself, and overcome seemingly strong physical opposition. It would might undermine her sense of accomplishment if she started relying on the potion. Especially if there were nefarious ingredients in it. Previously none of it mattered, it seemed like the only solution. But now...
?
"You know, my dear, I will try?to sleep without the potion now. I feel fairly,?well, at least more confident than I was. I think if I keep it up, with my confidence level, I could scare away the nightmares. Fight off the squeezing hands, and ignore the?dark voices of the abyss. I think I will just try to sleep and see if I can. If I cannot, I will gladly take you up on your offer," Elizabeth thoughtfully decided, trying not to look too eager, too confident, lest it drew undue suspicion.
?
"You may hold me, but I doubt I shall be able to perform my wifely duties. I am so exhausted," Elizabeth?explained with?a very convincing?yawn. She figured that some limited physical contact may be in order, if she were to play her part right. That would?make a good practice, especially since she took care to protect herself from anything too disturbing. ??

Subject: Re: [A-Twist-Of-Fate] Late night lab work: (tag, Elizabeth)
Victor smiled to hear Elizabeth¡¯s answer, grateful to whatever higher power, Fate, luck, whatever, had brought about this change in his wife.
I am most glad and reassured to hear that you are feeling better, he told her, his tone sincere; sometimes, it helps just to talk with a good friend, and I do believe the lotions are helping you. You are right I am sure, he replied when she suggested that he invest his talents in lotions. Seeing as how they have helped you so much, and if I continue to see such in the future, that will be very much a valid consideration of mine to do so.
His expression was one of incredulity when she settle down up on their bed. Do you still need that sleeping potion of which we spoke earlier, he asked. ?he considered offering to make love to her, but perhaps she might not be quite ready for that yet, he decided, after all, it had been a long day, they had run?quite the emotional gamut, from simply talking and discussing, to arguing, and even striking at each other, or rather, she had struck?at him. So perhaps, he thought, the lovemaking could wait for a while. He?made his way to the opposite side of the bed, and lay down beside her, being careful not to get too close, so as not to crowd her.
God loves you.
It could have been more difficult to pretend being the same na?ve girl if she didn't have a purpose to guide her. She may have been uncertain about many things still, including the mystery of this Captain Dance, and the strange dread of her being eradicated by him, but she did have that inspiration from Keres. An idea that something grater was there for her. That if she did it well enough and did not get caught, she would live to see the thrill in all of it. That, further she could contribute to great changes in the world. Perhaps be officially acknowledged by the organization, even that Captain Dance fellow. It was all relevant for the future of course.
?
But it inspired her to patiently pursue her goals. Which at this point implied reassuring Victor. Until she was ready to proceed and do otherwise. "Yes, my dear," Elizabeth softly responded, delighted that her tone sounded as casual as she had imagined it while practicing it in her head. No more sugary sweet, nor more intense hostility. She didn't need any of it. Was above all of it now, at least for the moment.
?
"Me and my good friend Keres had a jolly little chat. I feel less at odds now than I did.?Her lotion?probably helped matters. I put it on my skin, and it began feeling less monstrous by the moment. You should really invest your prodigious talents into lotions, Victor. I am telling you, they are the future for they would be so popular with the ladies," Elizabeth conversationally declared. "But yes, I certainly feel better now," she concluded, considered a smile, discarded it as unnecessarily fake and instead simply settled down onto his, theirs bed. ?????

Subject: Re: [A-Twist-Of-Fate] Late night lab work: (tag, Elizabeth)
Victor was still in bed; he heard something that sounded like someone coming through the door, and awoke?slowly. This did not sit well with him, for there was a time not so long ago, when he would have awakened much more quickly, being very much startled by the entrance of someone. But now, he found it was harder for him to wake up, he was so very tired, and just wanted to keep sleeping.
Idly he wondered to himself, are?my potions doing for me what they should? They¡¯ve always worked before but, is it time to change to something new, something different? He listened, someone was in the house, of course it could be the servants, it could be an intruder, but then he remembered, had it all been a dream yesterday, or had he actually brought his beloved Elizabeth back to life? It had been real, he reassured himself, as he slowly stood, and made his way toward the sound.
Once he was a bit closer, he called in a voice only slightly more elevated than his conversational one, Elizabeth?? Is that you, Love?
God loves you.
"I really don't want to displease him at that," Elizabeth agreed with some hesitation. "Perhaps if I am introduced to him, he would understand me better and not be displeased? Unless of course I am not worthy of meeting him in person yet? Is he the leader over even you, Keres? Would he be observing my assignment personally? Do you think he really could find me unworthy? Well, I am not as well trained as some, but I intend to prove myself. Only, it would take time, that is all," Elizabeth uncertainly reassured and realized that her own words indeed supplied the reassurance she needed.
?
Elizabeth was not?entirely pleased with the?mention of bones however, an?unnerving image beginning to flood her mind. They did not seem to treat the idea as seriously as she would have perhaps,?so perhaps the dread on an indestructible skeleton was unfounded. But truly, one could not put anything past a barely understood organization that seemingly involved more than one creature with supernatural powers.
?
The young woman found the sound of a slamming door to be a pleasing distraction from her dark fears and darker memories of?her time in the Beyond. Idly noticing that the man did not seem to be?physically imposing, Elizabeth?had to wonder about his considerable mental powers. He would have to possess those to be worthy of a power like Keres.
?
Elizabeth left still engaged in a kind of stunned contemplation. The worry of displeasing the mysterious Captain Dance plaguing her mind and almost?making her lose the confidence. Fortunately the transformation in her did take place regardless of her emotions. Her skills kicked in when an unexpected robber accosted her on her way. Once she would have chided herself for choosing the barely lit alley that could lead to poorer neighborhoods, but now she was a different woman and relished the challenge.?Of course?only a few hours earlier she would have delivered a fatal blow in response to an unprovoked attack.
?
Now, since her heart was not fully in it, she settled on a half hearted blow. That knocked a tooth out of the man's mouth?and knocked the man himself to the ground. But did not kill him. "Perhaps, next time," Elizabeth spoke out loud, wondering if the man felt as reassured as she started feeling again.?Despite some confusion, some uncertainty and the implied threat of Captain Dance, Elizabeth felt fairly well about herself when she came back to Victor's house.????

Re: An evening's work, London, Henry, Rena, Leti, open
"Only the good places there," Henry admitted after a moment of hesitation. "Hindustan has the fighting pits of Mahasena, the temple of Kali's assassins. Africa has...lions and tigers. How intriguing, how rewarding, how challenging it would be to plunder the best defended strongholds, to compete against and overcome the strongest wrestlers. Yes, I could see a real man going on an adventure of debauchery there.??I think?those countries we mock for their arrested development are the ones that have it right in part. They have somewhat preserved the old ways, where the strongest always gravitates to the top and cannot be swayed from his path by the feeble human heart.
?
Or perhaps they are somewhere in between the true state of freedom and that of?self restraint? They seek to be like us, because we are the height of civilization, and civilization is to be desired, according to popular belief. They are wrong of course, but they are probably willing to be instructed as to the right way. It would only take one strong man to show them the way. A man like me, perhaps.?If I were to set to myself the task?of elevating fellow humans. Alas, it is too much effort. I shall seek to elevate myself alone and those dear to me and leave the politics, good or bad, to the buffoons and hyenas who could benefit from it.
?
But let us talk about matters of accommodations and convenience. Rest assured, I shall not expect you to cook. Even my hardy stomach shall not survive your ideas of proper meat. I appreciate your peculiar nutritionals needs, but am not going to share them. No, I have a different idea in mind. You will need some training, but in due time, you shall be hurting people with me like there's no tomorrow. I am talking about medical assistance of course," Hyde concluded with a friendly wink.
?
"I will have my greatness yes, no matter who has to move out of my carriage's way," Henry easily agreed and then realized they may have been speaking about two different things. "In what way do you anticipate my greatness to arrive though," he wondered, overall satisfied that Rena could see his bright future as well as he himself could. ???

"Do you want to plunder India and Africa," Leti asked, a bit dazed.
?
No one ever talked to her like this before, certainly not a Gentleman like Dr. Henry. But then again was he a gentleman? No but? not in the way others weren't. And she didn't know how to explain it no better than that. His sort she'd never seen before. She didn't mind it and he made her feel safe someone. She liked the way he spoke as though she were a part of things...of some inner circle. And Rena too. Including her even if it was only because the man they were seeking had done...whatever it was that she just couldn't remember!
?
Then again Rena had said she'd tell her about the clothing thing so perhaps they would've eventually let her into their secretive circle anyway. She was afraid of feeling important only to be cast back out into drudgery and normality. Afraid of wanting to be a part of something only to be rejected. Afraid of being stupid. But for now she'd enjoy it while she could.
?
?
"Well I suppose their private desires ain't no better for all that," she agreed when Henry spoke of what the men in office were really like.
?
His talk of society restricting things was oddly thrilling and made her think. She found herself nodding. "I can see that. Yeah."
?
She decided to ignore his jabs of her being cannibalism and lesbian, he was just being annoying and he knew that wasn't true. "I can't cook hardly at all," she said, trying not to thrill with hope at his offer of a job.
?
"But I would train hard if you is really needin' a medical assistant or somethin' I would try hard and study whatever you gave me, I promise..."
?
She blushed dropping her gaze. "But you was probably only kiddin' and havin' me on. It's alright."
?
?
"You will have your greatness," Rena told Jekyll squeezing his hand. "I promise it works out fine."
?
She wanted to ad that he was better than anyone and needed no one...except her of course but they were in public and she had to be careful what was said aloud especially in these times. She gave Leti a sympathetic look but remained silent. She would offer her work as a lady's maid if she had indeed misunderstood Henry but if not, the girl's brains were likely better used toward the medical if she truly had an interest. She didn't think Henry had an assistant already but again would wait for him to confirm as that was his thing.

"What? was she doing here? And who is she,"
Saddler asked.
?
Keres smiled at her husband, then gave a low
chuckle before replying. She watched, eyes eager on his for reaction as she
explained just who they had in their midst. His smile soon grew along with hers
and he let out a low chuckle.
?
"We have had equally productive days it seems. They
let me in. They don't suspect me at all and eventually we will have, through me,
access to all of their monsters. Do you know how many poor creatures they have
captive?!"
?
Keres sighed. "I can guess," she said
dryly.

Soon she wandered to the window and resting her
hands on the ledge, stared out toward Victor Frankenstein's
dwelling.

Re: Late night lab work: (tag, Elizabeth)

Re: Old Friends (Tatia/Rayna/Finn)
?
"Very well," Finn said after only a slight pause to
consider. "I don't see why not. And in case anything goes wrong I will have back
up."
He gave Rayna a smile, opting to believe she would
stand with rather? than against him out of friendship if things went sour
with his new endeavor. If not he'd have to try his luck and speed against hers
and that blade and while he wanted to believe in vampiric abilities when
necessary, enough had been wrong and died on that sword.
?
This new opportunity, as he saw it, would help to
rid the world of any beings who would harm those he cared about like Tatia. She
like him, had not asked for any of this and shouldn't have to pay for
it.
?
"We'll be back in a few hours I should think," he
told her with a warm smile.
?
Then adjusting his long duster he moved to the door
and politely held it for Rayna, mentally running over the address in his
mind.
?
Once outside he gave her a sidelong look as they
proceeded down the sidewalk. "You'll be wanting to know what we're walking into
before we arrive. It's an organization. It is supported by the government but
not tracked or monitored too closely by the government. So it is not the
government." He gave a slight smile? of amusement at others using the
government for once instead of the other way around which was all too
usual.
?
"What it does, as you have likely guessed, is
work?to rid the world of monsters. Not supernatural, though. They would
still consider you a supernatural considering your connection to
that."
?
He nodded to her sword before glancing away a bit
too quickly out of a discomfort any vampire would be mad not to
have.
?
"It is mostly made up of humans but the humans work
with supernaturals like us who want to live in a better less monstrous world. So
it is the out of control that they hunt down or the strictly evil who enjoy
killing. Evil and they are all too happy to utilize those like us who are
willing to help. It's not just about killing vampires and that's what I really
like about it. It takes down all sorts and trust me from what overheard there
are all sorts. Some I never even imagined. Creatures, monsters, many from
various parts of the world, things I could ever imagine and many only out to
prey on the weak. It makes me feel better being what I am if I can do something
about that."

Victor was still in bed; he heard something that sounded like someone
coming through the door, and awoke?slowly. This did not sit well with
him, for there was a time not so long ago, when he would have awakened much
more quickly, being very much startled by the entrance of someone. But now, he
found it was harder for him to wake up, he was so very tired, and just wanted
to keep sleeping.
Idly he wondered to himself, are?my potions doing for me what they
should? They¡¯ve always worked before but, is it time to change to something
new, something different? He listened, someone was in the house, of course it
could be the servants, it could be an intruder, but then he remembered, had it
all been a dream yesterday, or had he actually brought his beloved Elizabeth
back to life? It had been real, he reassured himself, as he slowly stood, and
made his way toward the sound.
Once he was a bit closer, he called in a voice only slightly more
elevated than his conversational one, Elizabeth?? Is that you, Love?
God loves you.
"I really don't want to displease him at that," Elizabeth agreed with
some hesitation. "Perhaps if I am introduced to him, he would understand me
better and not be displeased? Unless of course I am not worthy of meeting
him in person yet? Is he the leader over even you, Keres? Would he be
observing my assignment personally? Do you think he really could find me
unworthy? Well, I am not as well trained as some, but I intend to prove
myself. Only, it would take time, that is all," Elizabeth uncertainly
reassured and realized that her own words indeed supplied the reassurance
she needed.
?
Elizabeth was not?entirely pleased with the?mention of bones
however, an?unnerving image beginning to flood her mind. They did not
seem to treat the idea as seriously as she would have perhaps,?so
perhaps the dread on an indestructible skeleton was unfounded. But truly,
one could not put anything past a barely understood organization that
seemingly involved more than one creature with supernatural powers.
?
The young woman found the sound of a slamming door to be a pleasing
distraction from her dark fears and darker memories of?her time in the
Beyond. Idly noticing that the man did not seem to be?physically
imposing, Elizabeth?had to wonder about his considerable mental powers.
He would have to possess those to be worthy of a power like Keres.
?
Elizabeth left still engaged in a kind of stunned contemplation. The
worry of displeasing the mysterious Captain Dance plaguing her mind and
almost?making her lose the confidence. Fortunately the transformation
in her did take place regardless of her emotions. Her skills kicked in when
an unexpected robber accosted her on her way. Once she would have chided
herself for choosing the barely lit alley that could lead to poorer
neighborhoods, but now she was a different woman and relished the
challenge.?Of course?only a few hours earlier she would have
delivered a fatal blow in response to an unprovoked attack.
?
Now, since her heart was not fully in it, she settled on a half hearted
blow. That knocked a tooth out of the man's mouth?and knocked the man
himself to the ground. But did not kill him. "Perhaps, next time," Elizabeth
spoke out loud, wondering if the man felt as reassured as she started
feeling again.?Despite some confusion, some uncertainty and the implied
threat of Captain Dance, Elizabeth felt fairly well about herself when she
came back to Victor's house.????

Klaus wondered if Amara could break the curse, then
wondered what sacrificing her would do considering the spirits...one of which
she seemed to be looking at now...considering who she was it wasn't likely she'd
stare so at nothing or empty space.
?
"Penny for your thoughts," Klaus told Valerie with
a friendly smile.
?
He wouldn't mind another's take on the evening for
once.
?
At the same time he asked, he came to the
conclusion that for now, sacrificing Amara would be too dangerous and likely
wouldn't work. She may be the first but the dopplegangers who lived during his
issue and after were likely the relevant ones. So back to good old annoying pain
in his ass and thorn in his bloody side Katarina.

The leader over even her? Keres didn't like that
question. There were wrong answers and answers no one was allowed to touch...to
know, not even her. She wanted to say that of course he was the leader, older
than all of them, but no. This was not true now. She was the leader, at least
over Dance yet he could operate very well on his own.
?
?
"No. He is not the leader over me. Only over Cylas
but then again everyone is, aren't they Cylas," Keres said with a low taunting
laugh of amusement. "Just don't misstep in an obvious way and Dance should not
be a problem for you."
?
She waved when Elisabeth left and then went to
attend her husband. He had news of his new job and she was eager to hear it. It
would take patients, his new job, but it would open so many ways for their
organization. SO many ways to take their enemies down...down where they deserved
to be.
?
Cylas, however, watched Elisabeth and when she had
gone into Victor's abode, he returned for the would-be robber and beat him to
death. It would be amusing for Victor as well as Elisabeth to discover the body
so close to their property on the morrow he thought cheerfully.
