Re: Calling on the Doctor (Leti/Pool/Mary/etc)
Rena gave a groan of protest at the knock on the door. They'd finally gotten to sleep and they were supposed to summon the acursed servants when they wanted them. She made another small sound of protest when an obviously and understandably sleepy and angry Henry disentangled himself from her embrace and removed his warm presence to open the door. Sitting up and clutching one of the blankets to her naked form, she grinned in amusement at Henry's extremely well shaped backside as he addressed his butler through the door. Amazing he didn't see how magnificent his own form was. She had even expected him to look more nondescript from the way he...as Jekyll had spoken of himself prepotion as she thought of it.?
?
?
As the haze of sleep cleared her mind a bit, a thread of panic shot through her. She hadn't gotten to explain yet to Henry of the danger they could be? in...What if it was already bloody knocking at the door somehow?

Re: Calling on the Doctor (Leti/Pool/Mary/etc)
Henry Hyde was having some fast dream, about strange trees enveloping him in their embrace and talking to him. Talking, ever talking...He realized with a start that he it was still pretty early. That he didn't have much sleep, and that somebody was knocking on his door. "What," Henry growled. He was not sure how he felt about the twisting trees and their murmurs, but he needed some damn sleep. He almost apologized, remembering that Rena must have been right there.
?
He had not detected her at first, forgot about her presence, possibly even considered her a pleasant dream. Who could blame him though when even his eyes refused to open, and his mind refused to work. "What now," Henry repeated, approaching the door. Opening it, he started at the man on the other side. "Is it an urgent call, Poole? I hope it is, for otherwise, I am going back to sleep!" he exclaimed but stopped himself from shutting the door again as was his instinct. |

Leti nodded and murmured her thanks, wanting to apologize yet again and knowing it would solve nothing. As she miserably waited, she struggled not to drop her face into her hands. She knew she should've waited but this wasn't normal, it was not well and something inside of her screamed at her to take? action NOW. She knew?the sleepless night she'd had as a result may not be helping her judgment but there was nothing for it.

OOC, Leaving it? to Henry to decide if/what Pool is interrupting. LOL.

Pool continued to study her, noting how she struggled to contain herself, giving a slow nod when she said that it was wise for her to see Dr. Henry now. ? ?Giving a soft sigh,?Pool at last gave his acquiescence; very well ma¡¯am, seeing as how I have sufficiently warned you of incurring his displeasure, I shall now go and see if he will except your visit at this early hour. With that, the well educated Butler slowly turned, wait here, please ma¡¯am. With that, he headed into the house, and offering at present, no explanation to Mary, who nearly gave him a curious look, ?Pool made his way to the bedroom of the master and mistress. This has really ruined my mornings sleep, he thought to himself, as he gave a??cautious knock on the door.

Re: Life in London
Ben looked startled by Rebecca's options for? sharing the information with him.
?
"Well...I find both...rather disconcerting considering we just met. Would one not need to get to know a confident before deciding...well to confide in them? Or if offering one the...gift of immortality would one not need time to know if the person was suitable?"
?
Was it a gift? He wasn't sure and had hesitated over the choice of that word for a reason.
?
"Ah. A thinker," Kol said nearly gleefully.
"I like that."
?
?
Then directing his gaze and words to Ben he continued. "That's my sister...living in the moment, impulsive to a fault."
?
He winked.
?
"Were it anyone else your questions would be valid but to be quite honest, this is completely Rebecca's style."
?
?
He turned his gaze to his sister then, while still continuing to speak to Ben.
?
"Perhaps that's why our older brother doesn't ever respect her choices."

Re: Life in London
¡°I suppose too few concern themselves with learning the truth as it's far easier to write us off as ¡®abominations¡¯ or ¡®monsters¡¯.¡± Rebekah often stopped to wonder whether their mother exerted some measure of influence from beyond the grave driving Mikael¡¯s hatred and ensuring he would rid the world of her mistakes. Her attention momentarily drifting to her brother curious to know whether this conclusion was hers alone.?
?
But that like so many other conversations would be saved for another day as the time hardly felt right. Perhaps it was something they should discuss with Elijah as he was by default their eldest sibling with Finn still lying daggered in a coffin somewhere. Quietly shaking off these thoughts as she felt herself becoming distracted.
?
It was hardly surprising when Kol took a more serious interest in the conversation when their human guest asked after motives. One eyebrow lifted just so as she contemplated whether to respond with the same honesty as their story was told with.?
?
¡°If I were to be truthful there are two possible reasons for sharing our history with you¡either I simply wished to have someone outside of certain¡family drama that I could confide in or perhaps I have been giving serious thought to offering to turn you. Either way if you feel the information is more than you might be able to handle I can ensure you will not remember us at all¡.if that is what you wish.¡± |
Re: The Birth Of Katherine Pierce
"He denied me my choice. He is unlikable already," Mina grumbled running her hands nearly roughly over her face and sighing.
?
"This entire situation has shown me that I know nothing...about anything...I don't know what is real or possible and my entire foundation...for anything is gone. I have him to thank for that. You are right I know. I must learn more but the revenge is at least in part mine and I want to be a part of it," she told Katherine firmly.
?
"There are 2 ways. I learn and become strong and go after him directly the way I'm in the mood to do right now or we do it in a more subtle fashion where we learn about? him first, though in truth I am uncertain as to how."
?
She ran her hands over her face again noting with silent wonder how different everything felt. Even her skin under her own palms. What a wonder...though unlike Katherine, she wasn't brought into this for love so the joy she imagined Katherine had for the entire thing was gone, leaving her only with her usual sharp minded curiosity.
?
?
"I owe you my loyalty in this and you shall have it. He wasn't sticking around to save me if you didn't," she said, nearing the resentment in her tone for that along with everything else.
?
"Whatever problems he thinks he has, he's just added to them," she added firmly.
?
?
Turning to face Katherine directly she met the other woman's gaze.
?
"So enough feeling sorry for myself at least for now," she stated with a faint smile. ?
"So now what?"

Re: The Birth Of Katherine Pierce
Katherine could easily recall a time when dismissing the very idea would have been a more immediate reaction on the subject of past lives and other such things. But when one had lived for four centuries it became a bit more complicated as broadened ones perception of the world around them.?
?
For her everything had changed the moment she'd met Vlad, not that he¡¯d been immediately forthcoming with certain details but it hadn't been long before he confided in her. While she could pursue the conversation of past lives further she chose not to for the time being.?
?
¡°At first¡.it is both disorienting and overwhelming but it shall pass.¡± She softly reassured hoping to make this easier and also feeling anger toward the man who forced her hand. Or maybe there was a slight confusion as to why she hadn¡¯t been simply content to let things play out as they might.?
?
She breathed a heavy sigh as thoughts once more turned to her husband who she wished were here but as always as of late he was far more preoccupied with what the other lords wanted than with his family. ¡°Sadly it is the way of the world. So many take life at random without a second thought or reason simply because they can.¡±
?
Offering a single nod when it seemed her new friend was expressing a desire for revenge. ¡°In time he shall. But first you must learn, and one of the first lessons is to never rush into a fight where you may be potentially outmatched¡it is a sure way of getting oneself killed.¡±
?
She offered a sympathetic smile at the sentiments expressed then softly spoke. ¡°I was human just as you were when I first met Vlad but because he loved me so deeply he offered to turn me and because I couldn't imagine a life without him I accepted. Shortly after, we were wed. So, you see being a vampire doesn't make that impossible.¡±
?
With a hint of amusement she regarded Mina, a smile soon forming. ¡°I suppose not. But¡the option is there should you change your mind a hundred years from now.¡± A silence fell over her as she listened to her description of the attacker committing every single detail to memory as she intended to see to it that something was done about it.
?
¡°You¡¯re most welcome. I only wish circumstances had afforded you the opportunity to choose this life.¡± It was something Vlad insisted on, never once denying her the choice of becoming like him or remaining human. He'd never wanted it to be against her will and she had never once turned someone against theirs.? |

Leti's became wild with her inner panic at the thought of putting this off any longer but with a brief pause as she struggled to contain herself, she resolved to proceed.
?
"I'm afraid it would be wise if I spoke with them now...I simply can't explain more, but please tell in it's very important else I'd not disturb them. Please let them know I am aware of and regret?the early hour, Sir."
?
As she spoke, slender hands pressed themselves into her skirts. She had to struggle not to grasp fistfulls of the fabric in her distress.
?
If only he blasted man hadn't accosted her and mucked about with her memory, however he had done it! Because now she was likely here ruining the most interesting prospect in her life. The doctor and Miss Rena would be disappointed and they would likely turn her away before she could warn them of...well she didn't even know what.

Pool studied the young lady, looking her up and down, not judging her by her looks, but rather, judging her by the things she said. ? ?He frowned,?thinking to protest that it was early, but she already made an apology for that; his?frown deepened when she spoke of needing to speak to him in private, but it dissipated when she acknowledged his lady as well, and said she would speak her matter to both of them. "I...I need to see Doctor Enry, please," Leti said.
?
Her gaze was apologetic, gaze sliding away in embarrassment. She'd never spoken to fine butler before. Even such servants were educated and from schools for whatever they had to learn. She felt worn down cand shabby, though her dress, though not fine by any means, was made of decent cloth and not in disrepair. She did look like the working girl she was, not overly poor, but not accustom to fine living either and her speech was obviously cockney.
?
"Please tell him that I am very sorry..so sorry to have disturbed im so early, but it's important, you see...And it should be said to him in private...Well that bein' him and his lady, of course, not just him alone," she added hastily, feeling quite miserable and that she was making an awful mess of this.

Pool had been sleeping soundly when suddenly, something broke through that comfortable blanket of sleep; was he dreaming? He slowly open his eyes, was that¡, Yes, it had to be, it was a knock??on the door of Dr. Henry¡¯s home. ? ? ?At the same time, he heard a knock on his, door; Pool? Pool, wake up! It was Mary, and she was standing outside his door, knocking and calling his name. There is someone at the door, Pool, and as far as I know, you are still the Butler. ? ? ?So much for sleeping late, the butler grumped?to himself, as he hurried to dress as best he could at so early of a time. Henry and Rena?had promised him that he could sleep late the following day, but of course they did not know that someone would come knocking at their door so early the next morning. ? ? Run along, and get dressed yourself, he told Mary. Once they were both dressed, they met outside the door of their rooms, and Mary asked, so why do I have to get dressed, ?you are??the Butler, and what does that have to do with me? Because, pool replied, you might be called upon to prepare something; we must go and see now what this guest wants. ? As they hurried along, pool spoke softly, Mark my words, Mary, this is the folly of staying up late at night; it is infinitely better for one to retire early, so that he or she may be prepared to rise early to greet whatever circumstances the new day brings. ? As Pool slowly opened the door, he noticed the young lady, looking rather distraught, at least to his way of thinking. He?? ?wondered to himself why someone would be so upset at this time of day. He kept his voice calm?as he greeted, good morning, my lady,?what brings you out this fine morning, and how may we be of service to you? God loves you.

Calling on the Doctor (Leti/Pool/Mary/etc)
Leti hadn't slept a wink and she waited as late as she could, just past daylight before finally breaking and walking through the city to the doctor's home. She felt dreadful doing so in spite of her terror. He had just given her his address, and for a party at that, and here she came bothering him...but she didn't know what else to do. Her feet dragged, because she knew she was likely to walk herself right out of that party invite she'd so looked forward to, but there was nothing for it.
?
?
Perhaps she should've told her brother of the trouble she was having, but that just didn't feel right. She fussed with the ends of her auburn hair as she slowly approached the ground home, a pit growing in her stomach. The doctor and his lady had been all smiles and friendly words the night before but would they be so friendly in the morning light, especially so early.? There was simply nothing to do but to get it done with she told herself firmly and lifted the heavy brass knocker letting it fall several times.

Van Helsing looked concerned, his eyes flicking toward Natari, ?as her gaze dropped to the floor; ?¡° what is wrong,Natari,¡± ?he asked as his gaze followed hers for a moment, then shifted to regard the others. ?¡° True enough,¡±. He replied to Amara with a slight smile, ?¡° as far as I know, the mix of vampire and witch ?is completely unheard of, until now.¡±. ?His smile widened?somewhat at the mention of God overlooking various labels. ?¡° exactly, and you are most blessed for realizing it,¡±. Dr. ?Van replied, his voice as calm when discussing religion, as when discussing something scientific, yet carrying a strange quality of increased warmth. ? ?¡° see, it is not the label which pleases or displeases him, it is the heart of the creature wearing that label, and what that creature does or does not do which matters, be it?human, vampire, witch, werewolf¡¡± he paused, trailing off in order to let his statement sink in, before continuing, ?¡° for example, a priest¡, Well renowned and respected, might still commit atrocities so evil they might well equal blasphemy in his sight, while one of far less renown, position and prestige, might actually bless others, even by deeds that might seem rather¡, Shall we say, dark to others.¡± ? ?He favored Natari with a?warm smile, then looked back toward the others. ?¡° yes one of your kind, without realizing it, and perhaps without meaning to do so, has school me in this, her actions being not those of a cold hearted killer, but those more befitting a friend, showing me that perhaps I have been¡, Mistaken in some of my past viewpoints. Furthermore, I have noticed nothing to suggest that she has¡, Compelled me to say or think any of this. ?she could have killed me moments ago, when we were alone; yet, as you can clearly see, here I am.¡± ?His smile became rather winsome as he made the last part of his statement. ?¡° The fact that any of you would come to me for any kind of assistance is, at very least most humbling, and that is why I humbly beseech all of you, to have no quarrel with this one, for she has served to open my eyes to the wrong I have done. Rest assured??that I will do my best to assist however and wherever I can, and as it was said of old, ?¡° if I perish, I perish.¡± ?Doctor Van?knew he was taking a tremendous chance in being so open and in saying what he had said, yet in his eyes, there was a strange sort of peace, for he knew that, even if his actions and trust proved foolish, and if he were killed, his would be the higher reward for having trusted, for having tried to help.??

Valerie slid a look toward the former handmaiden who suddenly seemed rather distant as if her mind were elsewhere. Perhaps with the line of questioning that was for the best. ¡°Shall we say¡she is immortal and far older than any of us.¡± She chose to omit any details when offering a response to the previously unanswered inquiry. It was her hope this would suffice.
?
She casually lifted an eyebrow as her own presence was called into question, a thing she clearly had no intention of offering anything in the way of an explanation for. It was, after all, not her place to reveal such things as the reasons weren't her own. Honestly, if it were up to her she wouldn't even be here.
?
When watching the exchange it was difficult to overlook further proof of her reckless nature as she seemed to border on daring him to take action at certain points. Suicidal? Perhaps. Or merely bored with life. Whatever the case if she persisted with this behavior it would be a wonder if she lived much longer.

Amara was only vaguely aware of the conversation taking place around her as she felt drawn into the images flooding her mind. Sifting through what she hadn't realized to be memories belonging to the dark haired woman. Three men. All of whom felt important somehow though it was the elderly one whose presence felt the most comforting and that caused her to focus rather intently on him. So much so that without knowing she'd created an illusion that would alter both her appearance and voice in the mind of Natari alone.

Valerie took a casual interest in the conversation while glancing over a few of the scrolls scattered about as the attention seemed to shift from attempts at solving the riddle that was Amara to the good doctor and whatever help he could provide. It was odd to see the infamous hunter of their kind showing the slightest concern or perhaps loyalty to one who he would otherwise staking. ¡°I have no interest in bloodshed¡at this point in our little venture.¡± She let the implication this could quickly change sit there a moment then swiftly moved on.

¡°I suppose there is a way it could be done as there are always loopholes in nature.¡± While it was disturbing to consider it could not be entirely eliminated from the realm of possibility. As the subject of religion was brought up she turned back to Van Helsing, one eyebrow rose as words were considered. ¡°I assume that it is as you say and he¡¯s able to look beyond labels of human¡vampire¡etc and see that we remain his children regardless. Otherwise why allow us to exist?¡± |
