Valerie slid a look toward the former handmaiden who suddenly seemed rather distant as if her mind were elsewhere. Perhaps with the line of questioning that was for the best. ¡°Shall we say¡she is immortal and far older than any of us.¡± She chose to omit any details when offering a response to the previously unanswered inquiry. It was her hope this would suffice.
?
She casually lifted an eyebrow as her own presence was called into question, a thing she clearly had no intention of offering anything in the way of an explanation for. It was, after all, not her place to reveal such things as the reasons weren't her own. Honestly, if it were up to her she wouldn't even be here.
?
When watching the exchange it was difficult to overlook further proof of her reckless nature as she seemed to border on daring him to take action at certain points. Suicidal? Perhaps. Or merely bored with life. Whatever the case if she persisted with this behavior it would be a wonder if she lived much longer.

Amara was only vaguely aware of the conversation taking place around her as she felt drawn into the images flooding her mind. Sifting through what she hadn't realized to be memories belonging to the dark haired woman. Three men. All of whom felt important somehow though it was the elderly one whose presence felt the most comforting and that caused her to focus rather intently on him. So much so that without knowing she'd created an illusion that would alter both her appearance and voice in the mind of Natari alone.

Valerie took a casual interest in the conversation while glancing over a few of the scrolls scattered about as the attention seemed to shift from attempts at solving the riddle that was Amara to the good doctor and whatever help he could provide. It was odd to see the infamous hunter of their kind showing the slightest concern or perhaps loyalty to one who he would otherwise staking. ¡°I have no interest in bloodshed¡at this point in our little venture.¡± She let the implication this could quickly change sit there a moment then swiftly moved on.
?
¡°I suppose there is a way it could be done as there are always loopholes in nature.¡± While it was disturbing to consider it could not be entirely eliminated from the realm of possibility. Turning a brief look toward the good doctor then to Natari as she spoke. ¡°After all, the combination of witch and vampire isn't supposed to exist either and yet¡here I am.¡±
?
As the subject of religion was brought up she turned back to Van Helsing, one eyebrow rose as words were considered. ¡°I assume that it is as you say and he¡¯s able to look beyond labels of human¡vampire¡etc and see that we remain his children regardless. Otherwise why allow us to exist?¡±
