Re: An Evening¡¯s Work, London (Henry/Rena/Leti/open)

"That would be a relief," Henry readily admitted, still somewhat sulky from his perusal of the newspaper. Things were getting crazy in politics. The choice was between "love everybody" Gladstone and "sex is abomination" Cecil. Equality of the people has never been attainable, and in his opinion not even desirable. How could one aspire to be one's true self, to be great and on top of things, when everybody else was just like you. That was ridiculous of course. Or something. He hasn't had such bold thoughts in the longest while. Thoughts that reminded him of his younger days.
?
And then there was Cecil.?He was the one Carew chose to support, which was a terrible recommendation already. And then, to make matters worse, the?inept conservatives blew things up in Afghanistan and Africa. Africa, for crying out loud, where they weren't fighting any tigers, as far as he knew. That put their entire rhetoric of strength and inspiration in question. Henry normally?kept such thoughts to himself but oddly found himself moved, perhaps by irritation, to voice them.
?
"The only good thing that came out of Gladstone?was the Gladstone bag. Good quality leather, very comfortable, only Gladstone obviously did not manufacture it, the wretch. Yes, I shall gladly inquire into the offensive bastard who touched you.?If he doesn't offer an explanation and an apology, I will just pretend I will be pummeling Gladstone and Cecil intermittently, No Offense Leticia if Gladstone is your candidate or anything.?Oh wait, what am I saying. With your special needs, about taking care of people, surely you would not care so greatly about other people. I correct myself, retract my apology, and pretend?it never happened," Henry jovially concluded, talking out loud instantly putting him into? a better mood. ? ? ? ??
