Nadia so wished that all these concerns would become little more than background noise as it would make things so very much simpler. She hadn't set out to be so worried when their family made the trip here but it happened all the same. Her head turned slightly when her brother next spoke.?

She appreciated his attempt at lightening the mood, offering a brief smile, then staring ahead in silence for several seconds. “You can it in her eyes when she looks at father or speaks of him that is not the case. She still loves him very much. There's just a sadness and this…distance now.”

The more she thought on it, the more she wished she could shake their father for his absence. It was his job to hold the family together. Not hers. So, why wasn't he doing it?
