Natari gave a soft laugh when the doctor hesitated
over the word predator when she was well aware he'd called them monsters often
enough. And many were, entirely lacking in self control and she disliked them
herself. They made her uncomfortable about what she now was for her maker was
not like that at all.? When she'd first seen such primal vampires she'd
been shocked baffled and disgusted.? Now she was more numb to it as there
was nothing to be done and while civilized, she was not exactly a bleeding
heart.

"What makes anyone remarkable is different for each
person, vampire or human," she replied consideringly, turning her mind from her
own musings to his question.
?
"There is no vampiric code if that is what you
mean.? It would be nice if there were and ony high minded folk were given
such power, but some more primitive vampires may do it for spite, carelessness,
fun, out of boredom, for entertainment. Some do it for a friend be they
civilized or not. Eternity is a long time to live when those around you die.
Some when turned turn their family members to prevent said deaths. Some turn
lovers for the same reason. You know in my case my maker was a family friend and
turned me to save my life. It all depends on the vampire, but often they find a
person interesting or useful if it is not so emotional of a reason and wish to
keep them around."

She shrugged.
