Samantha woke with a start her hand instantly moving to touch her neck as she recalled it¡¯d been snapped. But on the plus side she¡¯d died with Hayley¡¯s blood in her system so she supposed she was well on her way to becoming a hybrid. She could hear sounds coming from downstairs that she shouldn¡¯t have been able to. The lights in the room seemed brighter causing her to squint a little and even bring a hand up to shield her eyes a bit.?

The sound of footsteps echoing down the hall, drawing closer and closer still pulling her attention towards the closed door as the knob began to turn. She scrambled to the edge of the bed, not really knowing what to expect, but half a second later let the tension drain from her body as she saw Hayley standing in the open doorway holding something in each hand.?

¡°It¡¯s okay. You¡¯re just in transition.¡± Hayley spoke calmly reassuring the other wolf as she game over to the bed with a blood bag in one hand and in the other a small syringe that contained just enough of her daughter¡¯s blood to be sure that Samantha would survive the transition.?

She held out the blood bag first as the other came second. ¡°Here, drink this. You need to feed.¡± This couldn¡¯t be easy for her, Hayley remembered the difficult time she herself had had after turning. It was a harder thing for wolves to endure as most instinctively hated vampires so you could imagine how they felt about hybrids.

Samantha slowly extended a hand to accept it then brought it to her lips upon taking that first sip she nearly gagged. Her first instinct being to toss it away from her but her body was pushing her to finish drinking it. She took a deep breath trying to overcome her distaste then brought the blood bag to her lips once again. This time she finished consuming the red liquid, finding with each swallow that she liked the taste that much more.

Her mouth began to hurt as she grew fangs, one hand quickly covered her mouth as if that gesture might help stop the pain. Brown eyes seeking out Hayley in silent question of whether it would end soon. Fortunately it began to subside and as it did her hand dropped back to the bed beneath her.

She could hear the little girl¡¯s heartbeat clear across the house but tried to stay focused on Hayley who¡¯d promised to get her through this.?

Hayley took a seat next to the newly turned hybrid then with a flick of her wrist plunged the tiny needle into her arm injecting Samantha with a small amount of Hope¡¯s blood as without it she¡¯d die. ¡°It¡¯s gonna take a little time getting used to everything being heightened and to get a handle on the bloodlust but you can get through this.¡±
