He didn't slow his steps. Eager to get into town, and likewise eager to not run into that thing they were running away from. Headless Horsemen belonged in the pages of old books, best read around the Halloween campfire, he thought darkly. Spike preferred to be the main big bad around and he wasn't liking the uneasy feeling in his chest. Not to mention the fact he was surrounded by strange strangers who obviously each had their own powers, every single one of them foreign to his knowing.

For his part, the gremlin scampered in the shadow of Dew's skirt, half interested in his surroundings and half wishing to remain hidden incase humans with guns... For some reason the stress of this particular situation had brought all that back up again.
