Re: Grizzly is doing better - I hope!!!
The good old days are a distant memory.
I have had them reject coupons in the store so I don't ask anymore. If your
store will let you use it, go for it, but mine won't.

Re: Grizzly is doing better - I hope!!!
On this group (and/or the group that preceded it) I recall at least once somebody saying a store was willing to honor the 25% coupon even though it was an "excluded" item.
I also recall something

The video was absolutely mesmerizing, showing the construction of a
primitive lathe using just hand tools. (Even Dave Gingery had feeler

The current coupons and the exceptions is one reason I no longer really pay attention to them. Also the reason my buying from hf has come to a near stop. Once in awhile but not as before. The most

Re: LMS Hand Wheel X/Y DROs
Hi, Bret; as Brian noted, you still need to take backlash into account, which is one reason I added the iGaging scaled to my 7x16. They can also slip/skip if you turn the hand wheels too fast (most

Re: Grizzly is doing better - I hope!!!
When first look at mini lathes about 20 years ago the was about $250 to $500
They look good for little projects.
I switch to mini lathe for size and weight.

They sense the rotation of the screw, not taking backlash between the screw and nut into account. No better than the markings on the dials.Brian?

LMS Hand Wheel X/Y DROs
I have these type of DROs on my LMS lathe X/Y handwheels and tailstock pictured). How do they work? I find them off several thousands over an inch compared to a dial indicator/1-2-3 block.

Appreciate everyone's thoughts.
On the diagram I posted, that emergency switch has traditional spade connectors. So one easy fix is to just swap the white and black connectors, putting the fuse on
